The only thing you need to mess with in the settings is punch and that will depend on your driving style and driving conditions. As far as calibrating the ESC, that should have been done before you first drove it. So by all means, do that.

Learning as I go, do you mind elaborating on the punch? Is that more so for acceleration? It's at a 5 now .

Punch is like traction control. It will limit the initial jolt of power when you squeeze the throttle. The lower the setting the more it will ease you into the power. At level 5,like there is no limiting of the initial power and what you call for is what you immediately get.
