So today I hear that the arrma 6s has issues with catching fire. I've had my typhon about 6 months now and ran nothing but 6s and have had no issues. Has this really been an problem?
It probably was about the older Typhon with the V1 electronics. The ESC wasn't the best, but they weren't all bad either. Many people still run with them as of today. We mostly run 6s too and in my case the V2 ESC is awesome, they stay pretty cool. And you seem to have the V2 Typhon anyway.
You can pretty much ignore this fire thing. You could check the ESC / Motor temp every 5 mins or so when bashing if that could help relax your mind.

The older BLX 180 ESC's was pretty much terrible and would catch fire and that had nothing really to do with running 4s or 6s LiPo's - just the ESC itself.
The BLX 185's and newer are a much better ESC and you should have little to no worries. Make sure you're charging your LiPo batteries correctly and not letting them discharge below their safe levels and you should be fine.
Agree the with the above. However, with any lipo and any brand ESC, there is always a chance of fire - it just goes with the hobby. There is not much you can do while running other than to keep an eye on temps, and don't use puffed batteries. And store your lipos out of the cars, preferably in some kind of fire-resistant or fire containing box, just in case.
