  1. Typhon 6s
Someone is selling a typhon 6s v2 for $250. Is that a decent price if it’s in decent shape? I know that’s a older version wondering if they have problems I don’t know of?

Solution
Thanks for all advice and help!
Thanks!
EV Peak and HTRC have both been around for while now and are both good brands. I just went on Amazon searched for lipo balance charger, sorted by customer rating and the HTRC charger was the 3rd listing, the Skyrc is 16 if that matters. ?‍♂️
Im
Definately keeping those in consideration. Evpeak one even has a $10 off going so it’s like $40
You can still find V1 parts, except the motor and esc, not that you would want them anyway.

And as @FlipSide mentioned most of the V5 parts are backwards compatible all the way back to the V1. I thought I saw some mention that the a arms won't work though. It is rather unlikely that you would break an a arm though, I'm not saying that you can't or won't break an a arm but it is far less likely to happen on the Typhon than say a Kraton.

Sadly you can't use the current battery tray in the V2 unless you drill 4 new holes in the chassis. V2 and V3 have the battery tray holes in a different location. This was the only difference between the V1 Outcast chassis and the chassis in the V1 and V2 Typhon and Senton. https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/will-arrma-outcast-battery-tray-fit-kraton-v2.4075/#post-40032
Why is a battery tray something commonly broken? Can’t I buy the v2 version still or is it not available anymore ?

No it doesn't break, the newer battery tray just holds the batteries better, especially if you use 2 3s lipos. I would want to think that the new receiver box should just bolt on though, the new receiver box is much larger, the V2 is rather tiny.

I see. So using 2 3s lipos in my current setup is a loose fit? I’d rather use two 3s then 1 6s. That way I can use 3s batteries in other rcs

Depending on how thick the batteries are you have to stack them instead of putting them side by side, and they don't stay put as well when stacked.

Good to know. ?. I should be able to do something to keep them safe maybe some zip ties

Since its old time wise, you don't know the condition of the diffs and all. How much has it been used. Or did it just sit on someones shelf for years unused. If you know what you are looking at, it could be a great deal. It will still drive the same as a V5 IMHO. Short of actually driving it and touching it, It may be more $$ to repair. A new V5 is $500. But all new and revised parts. Its your call. Your wallet in the end. There were major revisions from V2 to V5. Little things that you might be finding yourself upgrading to anyway. Electrics and radio aside. That's another topic. IMO, on its face a V2 is probably not worth $250, unless it has many of the current aftermarket upgrade parts installed already. If this V2 is just a box stocker, I would pass and save for a V5 when you can. Just me.

BTW, Typhon 6s is an awesome rig to have. Very versatile. And fast. Many guys even speed run them with on road tires.
You are correct I beefed mine up!!! Put rear felony tires atw around it an put a 46t pinion on an spool and some m2c stuff on it with a proline adjustable rear wing and its a 85 to 90 mph car ALL DAY TYPHON IS IMO ONE OF THE TOP VEHICLES OF THE 6S LINE UP!!! IM NOT DONE YET BUT FOR NOW IM OVERWHELMED WITH THE TURN OUT AFTER TWEEKIN THIS AN THAT WITH 18/46 GEARING IT IS INDEED...INTIMIDATING BY FAR!! Its a very fun impressive drift KING

I think the Typhon 6s put Arrma on the map. And the Nero was the masterpiece IMHO. That got people to look at Arrma in the first place but I don't go that far back with Arrma rigs. It just appears that way to me. ?‍♂️

I think the 6s OC and the Typhon 6s were originally the hot Arrma rigs back then.

You were right. I went ahead and bought the evpeak c4. Which is a 80w charger. And man does it take long to balance charge a 4s 5000mah. Like 2 hours. Would buying that t240 instead be a noticeable improvement in charge time?

Aww, you didn't go for the HTRC see if you can return the c4, and if you get the t240 it will charge two lipos at around the same time your current charges one. If you want the time to be faster you have to be willing to spend more money https://www.racedayquads.com/produc...4_Iki_H4KLlyZU-7zRuI7KZPQ-WcT58xoCX8MQAvD_BwE

If you want to save some money you can order this one, it would take two weeks to arrive but would be worth it and save you money https://www.banggood.com/HTRC-T400-...6.html?cur_warehouse=CN&ID=47757&rmmds=search
