Arrma RC's
  1. Outcast 6s
I bought this Protek rc 100t servo for my Kraton 6s and haven’t installed yet. Is this an upgrade for the stock servo or is it the same? I don’t want to change it if it’s the same and I’ll just use it when the other goes out.
Thanks for the replies and I need to stop doing impulsive buys?

Yes, it is an upgrade, but not a huge difference.

ADS-15m @6.0v - 195oz-in, 0.16s
Protek RC100T@ 6.0v - 216oz-in, 0.14s

So yeah, more, but not much more. Will you notice? hard to say. If the ADS-15m is dead, then I'd drop in the Protek. If the stock servo still works, and you have not opened the box, then I would return it (or throw it in the tool box as a spare) and order something like -
https://www.banggood.com/JX-BLS-HV7...p-1179987.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN
Operating Speed (6V): 0.09sec/60°
Stall Torque (6V): 27.5kg.cm

I have one of these in my Outcast, running it on 7.4v, and it is silly fast, and plenty of power.

Or even one of these $25 25kg servos off amazon -

Can i use the second servo you listed for my v4 4s Kraton? If so what is a good transmitter to use with ?

The Annimos or the Hexfly should work great in the K4S or the K6S.

For a Transmitter, there are a hundred choices, depending on budget and upgrade path and most of them good. If you want to go cheap, the DumboRC radio is popular and $30. Has DR (Duel Rate) for throttle, so you can put the truck in "kid mode" with a quick turn of a dial. I bought one, but have not run it in an RC. Need to.

If you want to spend a bit more, and get a radio that can grow with your fleet "One TX to rule them all" then look at computer radios with multi-model memory(MM). For this, I have the older RC4G - current version is RC4GS. Good radio, has 10MM, gyro in the RX, and lots of programming/channel mixing options. It does feel like a cheap radio in your hand, but it is cheap, about $60 ($45 when I bought it two years ago). Extra RX are $8-$12, depending on where you shop.

Another popular radio (I don't have), and you can get it from your LHS is the Spektrum DX5C. $100 without a RX, $160 with. Same basic feature set as the other budget computer radios, but in a "Big Brand" package, if that matters. New RXs cost $30-$80, though. (NOTE - the RX that comes with the STX2 will NOT work with the DX** radios, so you need to buy the version with a RX. If your car came with the DX2E (like the Infraction) then you can get the TX only package, as all the DX** radios can use the same RX.)

Lots of other I didn't list, you could write a book on radios....

Oh, and youtube, there are several good vids talking radios. Most don't talk about the DumboRC, because it is kind of new, about a year on the market.
A few good vids -
