Well I took her out for a shakedown in 4s and yeah...I think I'll dig this thing. The run was cut short however by a runaway battery that was drug far enough to go through the soft case. The stuff inside was bubbling out. Got it disconnected and through an led strip on there to drain it without incident. Just ordered a new 5s set for this bad boy. I'll fab up a better battery mount in the meantime

Now I just have to get this XXL2E and E-Revo sold!

Awesome!! I'm gonna run a few packs through it before I start changing anything. Will probably end up doing the full tekno shocks. Already have the rpm bumper and rear skid plate on its way.

First priority is obviously the battery tray o_O

The batteries Inwas running were too big to put both on their sides so I had to stack them. The top one apparently came out and was dragging.

So, I need to fab up a plate to stop front/back movement.

Lol! Yeah probably don't want that. I thought there was an issue with the tray itself. Started to make me think cause I bought a single 6s battery tonight and truck isn't even here yet.

Oh yeah...you'all be fine with a single 6s battery. Just when you stack 2 on top of eachother that the issue exists

Just a a third velcro but in the longer direction. This help greatly when stacking batteries :P

Another tip and I don't know if it is science or someone's OCD that stuck to me, but I only run batteries in pairs. What I mean is if I buy 2 3s batteries, they get taped together, and are only ever run as that pair. Once you tape them together your problems are over. Until you tear through one of the straps like I did. Then maybe you swap out the battery tray for the outcast battery tray. Nothing will come out of that thing.

I have definitely considered taping the 2 packs together so I can basically have 1 "brick" of batteries. I, most likely, will probably end up doing that no matter what tray mod I end up going with. Since these batteries will be dedicated to the Kraton, I can't think of any reason not to.

Keeping batteries together in pairs makes a lot of sense as you should run packs with identical capacities and discharge ratings with similar cycles run through them.

I also started to look at the Outcast tray last night. I still need to understand the differences between them a bit but it would be great if a $15 piece of plastic could make a big impact.

Also a very good idea but I hate straps!! They are such a PITA! My Losi XXl2e has 4 straps and I dread having to change batteries. I must admit, I very very much enjoy the ease of battery changes on my Traxxas Revo and my sons Stampede. Hoping to come up with something close to that level of ease

I think the best way to handle the OUT Cast Tray is to use the 2 holes that line up with the Kraton tray. Then use some Gorilla Glue 100lb Mounting tape for the rear of it.

I must admit that switching battries on my Slash or my Team Associated SCT is far faster!

I agree. I think the only car I have that is more of a pain is my HPI Baja 5B SS that I converted to electric. All of my other cars are easier to change batteries.

5s will not work on the kraton. Only 3, 4 and 6s will work. two 2s or two 3s

Yep, it works with LVC off. Remember to use a lipo voltage alarm and it should be good :P

I'm currently using rubber bands to hold 2x 3s on top of each other. I was squeezing them in sideways, but recently noticed how deadly close the exposed spur is to the side of the battery that way. Probably going to 6s bricks soon. I have the Outcast tray, just need time to strip the chassis and fit it properly.
