Just bought a discharger

My main batteries are two 6S 7400mah. Discharge through a normal charger takes a long time, and there isn't always opportunity to just run the car down- so I just bought one of these-

I'll let you guys know how it works for me, but I don't expect any problems...nor any revelations. Just a controlled drain in a tidy package.

I almost bought one last year, had several trips in a row where I charged up several packs, then aborted... sucks on several levels.

I'm in the same boat as @Jerry-rigged. Let us know how you like it. Would be nice to have more than 30 watts per channel of discharging power. It would be awesome if this had a complete drain program for when you have a bad cell and would like to fully discharge it for safe disposal, but we have to take what we can get.

Output battery discharge current: Internal discharge 25mA to 8A, 50W max Regenerative discharge 25mA to 20A, 500W max**

What's the difference between the internal and regenerative?
Is that for discharging back into a DC car battery?

What charger do you have? And yes, regenerative discharging is when you are going back into a DC car battery.

Maxamps sending me this charger with my battery next week. Looks like the discharge is built into charger ?? So I should be all set starting into RC . Looks confusing to run charger. Watch some YouTube video on it. I should be bashing early next week. My 2019 Talion coming today in mail.

I never had to discharge my battery yet but if it took a long time that would suck. I hate watching it charge let alone discharge!

Wow just looked over that charger and you cannot plug into the wall. The guy never told me that. Since my battery are being freshly made from MaxAmps I,just called them and told them. So,they said switch too this charger instead. My order will be ship out next week. Here the link

I don't want to come across as a jerk, but I wouldn't buy that charger either. For waay less money you can get a much better charger. Go check the what charger should I buy thread for more details.

I had to pick a charger from MaxAmps to go with battery for the package deal combo. I am not going to change charger now, if it works well I be ok with it. All the reviews I read are 4 or 5 ️Stars .

O yah I had to get more expensive charger because I need one that capable of charging a 6s pack.
I am not getting Two 3s lipo packs. I am getting One 6s LiPo Pack . This charger I am getting is capable to charge 6s .

$520 would buy a nice Icharger, a nice power supply and a quality battery.

Who said I paid $520 ? That there Msrp price on website, no one pays those prices. My package was 15% off $520 for $442 with free shipping and they threw in a lipo bag.
