Arrma RC's
  1. Felony
  2. Limitless
Bought myself a limitless for Christmas. Been messing with rc cars for a while took a break and a drag group started up here. Since then my collection has grown. My first Arrma was the Felony, wanted a limitless but didn’t know what direction I wanted so I waited. I enjoy the arrma and haven’t had any issues. But just starting this thread for a reference and suggestions. I may also do some speed runs but don’t know of a smooth non busy road to do it at currently.

I ran into that problem with my lim. Set it with tall legs and have only hit 81MPH PB. (1/4-1/3 mile smooth stretch). I just have no more room. With plenty of Thr remaining.?‍♂️
I don't like Dragging or Drift bashing. I have an Infr. also. Speed run that also. Tires get expensive just smoking them up and drifting them. Easy to go thru $60. + every pack or so. If speed running exclusively, the tires last quite a while however, unless you wreck them of course.

Just took my limitless out today finished it Wednesday got it running on 8S and within 5 minutes I went through 2 tires one factory tire the bead let go and the second I was screwing around and it started to spin and I kept it pinned. It blew out the center of the tread got everyone’s attention though. I had a blast running it but I need to figure out the tire situation. I’m not sure if foams would be my best bet or some good rubber ones. Here’s the fastest I got it too just running it up and down the parking lot.

What's your gearing? Your conditions force you to need that speed quickly. 1/3 of a mile is not enough unless you gear for it. You can increase the pinion size. Another tip (don't have to do it): Cut away the rear part of the body that causes an air dam. Let that air not get caught. Cut the rear spoiler down, flat. No curve. And, of course, remove the front wings, useless for speed. HTH

Are you planning on doing 132ft or what? Use the Drag mode to see what you get.

I would like to eventually do 132ft. But I can’t even get to full throttle till about 100ft out and it still just spins the tires. I was only getting to about 50 mph and that’s just rolling into the throttle. I haven’t looked at the data from my esc yet. It’s running the factory gearing that it comes with.
This was the first outing with it so it’s a learning curve for sure. I’m use to my Felony on 6s. I will say this thing is a monster and a whole lot of fun.

Got some GRP tires coming for this car 1 set treaded S3 and 1 set slick S3 also got a wheelie bar coming. Which is much needed it was jumping whenever I would punch it the. Just smoke the tires. Notice it smoke the rear more than the front could be because it has the factory oil/fluid in the diffs and no spool, gonna mess with the tires, then possibly spool first or thicker fluid. I don’t want to change to much at once I just want to change it little by little now to see what difference they make.

Drag cars should be geared for the top of the track. Finishing a run at 50% throttle is a good way to ensure you never win.

I've never set up a full scale 4wd for drags, but normally one would work on weight transfer, weight distribution, and traction. We can improve the grip of the tires significantly with traction compounds (tire honey), that's a possibility for you. Weight transfer can be manipulated to a great extent on our toy cars with shock oil, spring rate, and preload. Distribution can managed by corner weighting the vehicle. I don't know how far it will get you, considering how ridiculously powerful these cars are for their weight, but those are the items a racer would be looking at.

Edit-
Good transmitters have programmable launch control features. My ancient DX4S does, so I assume any computer radio made by Spektrum since would also have it.

Took my limitless out to the races tonight, wasn’t going to actually race it just do some test hits to see how it did. But I ran it anyways had a blast. Until it broke from a collision down track but it was surprisingly little damage for a hit at 76 mph. Got it up to 85 just need to change gearing to see what else it can do. GRP tires are amazing after they warm up they hook good and let the car go straight from a dead stop I’m using the S3 Slicks currently. I have the S3 treaded version also to test later.

Just got my parts from @HotdogCustoms from the Arrma Fan event. And they look awesome. Can’t wait to install them. Also got new GRP slicks I ordered S3 but got S2s we normally run on concrete so I’m excited to see how they act also got some Sweep Foams on the way the same that @jondilly1974 got after seeing his infraction run.

When you get a good hit you want scored on the leaderboard, post it in the sticky in the Speed Demons section. Also, be aware that the Limitless falls into a couple different classes, depending on what your power system is: 188ft 6S, 188ft unlimited, 0-40mph unlimited. 1/7 scale are much too large for 132ft to be a scale 1/4mi, so we bumped it up to an accurate 188ft.

Yeah we do outlaw unlimited we just started a group right before COVID hit. But we are moving to 188ft for outlaw since we all run infractions, felonys and I have the only limitless, currently.

Just adding to this what would be good fluid to run 500k or a million or just some earplugs?
For drag or speed runs, thicker the better. You don't want a tire to diff out.

So it would be best to just put like a million all around? I’ve seen some where some people want thicker in the front. Is that preferable or just some people’s preferences
I have my Infraction for speed runs with all diffs locked. On my Drag Infraction, I did earplugs plus some 500k in the center and 500k in F/R. Can't complain so far. I have diff lockers for F/R if I need them.
