Hi guys,

I just got a new Typhon 6s BLX 4X4 v3. BLX185 series.

I bought 2 new 3s lipo's, both are gensacearespammers Bashing batteries, 5000 mah, 3-cell, 50C continous discharge. Should I buy an extra 4s or 6s battery? I'm not planning to do heavy modifications, since i don't want to spend a lot of money.

Do some of you have tips, fun, experiences or stories with the Typhon 6s? Please share them with me!

Thanks!

Welcome aboard and great choice of buggy if I do say so myself. :)

Once you get used to the Typhon you might want to try adjusting the standard ESC punch setting and brake strength setting to suit your driving. Good video here below showing you how to do that.

I know you don't plan to do much in the way of modifications but a good cheap worthwhile mod is the RPM skidplates to help protect your chassis plate from damage. Hope you enjoy it. (y)

If you plan to run mostly on the street then the provided speed pinion will be a blast and very fast. If you're bashing in the dirt and jumping stuff, keep the stock pinion in. Also, if you want to try some bigger tires that will provide more speed and more cushion on jumps, you'll want to get extended hex set/ hub extensions. They aren't too expensive and you'll need two sets total. I like the extensions because I like to play around with different tires and wheels.

Thanks for your tip! Definitely going to take a look at that! I sure will enjoy it!

Good choice!!!

I also bought a Typhone V4 last Friday!!

And as they already mentioned before, check the different settings. I think that the standard setting for breaking is a bit to soft.

I already burned up a set of street tires (50bugs LOL) and my original tires are also almost gone.

Here some pics from my V4 (red) and the blue V3 is from my buddy.

Pro-Line backflip buggy tires are a great choice if you want to keep the buggy look. I have no issues jumping and flipping the Typhon in buggy form.
I should've picked these up but I drove an hour to get to the LHS and bought all he had in stock / Duratrax Six Pack cause I didn't have any buggy tires left for the Typhon. I'm not doing that again

Definitely put a good heatsink and motor fan on it. My sold v5 6s motor would see 209f degrees using my laser temperature gun on the motor can after going through an entire 6s 50c lipo with mostly full throttle then brake in grass in my front yard track. It stilled worked perfectly when I sold it but the motor was probably going to melt soon. good luck brother 🍀
