Arrma RC's
Ill keep it short and sweet..

This thing is bad fuckin ass !!
Picked it up at a LHS for 390 plus tax

Really really fast, seems to be pretty durable, other then me popping a turnbuckle on a pretty nice tumble, but that popped right back in with my thumb and we were back and running.

Battery Tray seems a bit small, my Onyx 5400Mah batteries were a tight fit, but they did ok !

Only had one set of batteries so only got about 20-25 min of run time and was done, but all in all it was a blast
I recommend this truck (as of now) to anyone looking for an affordable basher. Especially with the sales they are having on them right now.

Couple questions to already owners.

The servo moves a bit when at full turn? is this normal ? just a bit of play, nothing major, just wanted to make sure it was normal

Also, Whats everyone go to battery for these things. Would prefer to run 2x 3s Hard packs if possible ?

Any other tips or tricks that people have would be awesome to. !

Glad to join the Arrma family with my first Arrma truck. THE KRATON ! its oh so nice !!!!

Thanks for reading guys.

Congrats!!!! Servo mount is junk, it allows movement of the servo, check Hot racing, voltage hobbies. I run SMC 5200 90C X2 Hardcase on 23t pinion. You'll have a smile ear to ear, once you start mods.

Also shim all 3 diffs & use whatever diff oil you choose.

Yeah that sounds like speedrun gearing, i just run the 14t pinion supplied with the car and on 4 and 6s it seems fast enough

I run SRC terrain crushers, which are smaller in diameter than stock, so larger pinion isn't quite as bad as it sounds. 68mph is maxed out.

ok. ill shim the diffs eventually when im forced to take this thing apart. Its been forever since iv taken a car apart, i don't really wanna mess with it to much. If you have a tutorial video link then maybe ill give it a shot. What exactly does that do ?

Also, with those batteries, Do they fit side by side in the tray ? or do you stack them ?
I was looking at these ones here.
http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?route=product/product&path=67_99&product_id=465

Also going to order that servo mount from Tower, Its backordered but should be in stock soon. Should i keep the stock servo ? or is there a better option for a not so crazy price.

Thanks for the help man !

no they will not fit, you can either get one of their 6s batteries.
http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?route=product/product&path=67_99&product_id=463
These will fit but anything bigger will not fit side by side, if you have no need for two 3s batteries get a 6s.
i have the hot racing servo mount and its very nice i got mine off ebay for like $20
The stock servo is slow id use it till it dies i use this, http://hitecrcd.com/products/servos...h-torque-hv-coreless-steel-gear-servo/product
but i got it free out of another rc car i bought.

but if you run a bigger servo you will need a BEC i use the, https://www.amainhobbies.com/castle...MRI7tkbXY3_Hk5GHkPWqR2px2PpXpooRoC1KEQAvD_BwE

To fit these in your Arrma single battery tray vehicle, like a Kraton or Tailon, we have a simple solution. 2 little pieces of hook & loop fastener attached to each pack keep the packs together while the stock battery straps keep the packs in the car."

and the description on that battery i linked is not true ?

damn :(

i did not read that it looks like they made the batteries fit like legos so, they state they work so they must. i might buy them now too

i just worry about how secure they are because, they are securing them like you would with a 6s batterie.

they seem perfect. im using some 3s onyx soft case 5400's right now that i got in like this little charger/battery starter pack. not to bad, but i def wanna invest in some better and hard shell batteries . I think i found them with those :D to bad they are only pre-order right now. One set of batteries is brutal !

yeah it it. but i run at my house and let it cool down between packs, im going to by those batteries when they are in stock, i looked at the specs they are longer and the height is not much more than my 7200 2s

Post number 6 in this thread gives you all the stuff you need and a link to the video is in post number 5 https://arrmaforum.com/threads/orangedragons-typhon.1192/#post-12102.

Shimming the diffs basically takes out the slack inside the diffs so the gears mesh together better.

Order the mount off eBay, do not wait for Tower to restock, it has been out of stock on Tower for a few months now. Order the one from Voltage Hobbies http://www.ebay.com/itm/Voltage-Hob...538510?hash=item1c9415c34e:g:RGIAAOSwt0FZBAM9 also available in black http://www.ebay.com/itm/Voltage-Hob...169442?hash=item1c918f4322:g:ukgAAOSw2AFZt2Jh

The diffs are easy to remove . The batts fit , just not side by side. I use 2 sided tape in-between them, with longer Velcro straps.

I own these 6700mah 3s packs. They fit but must be stacked on on top of another. They offer velcro for 50 cents that can be attached in between the two pack to keep the top one from sliding out. I have a outcast tray coming for my kraton so we will see if that will eliminate the need for velcro because that has another strap that runs long ways...

ordered 4 of them. Hopefully the pre-order isn't a very long wait. Having one set of batteries with this truck is NO FUN ! hhaha

How hard is it to run a velcro strap around the long way on the Kraton battery tray?

I don't think it would be very easy, since it has the screws and posts in the way. Best bet for a basher is to get the battery tray out for the OUTCAST. That thing will hold your batts securely.

To the OP. There is so much info you may need or not need, or want or not want, that to list all the stuff you can or should or should not do, that to list it here would take all day. Not to be rude, because your questions are fine, but for real read the kraton forum, back about a year and a half. Not every thread, but lots of them. Also the Drivetrain and suspension forums are good too. Batteries and servos are all personal preference mostly built of personal experience. I will say to keep an eye on those Onxy batteries. Every one I had puffed up badly, and have been disposed of. That is not only my experience but that of several others here.
