Wow, this thing was lightly used. Smooth as silk and barely a scuff on the chassis. $280 with some extra stuff. RPM arms, a solid digital transmitter, 25 kg servo, TBR exo cage, 2 4s batteries, and a Venom charger.
Basher body with cage. Wing, skids, and chassis with almost no rash. Wheelie wheels show little wear, the drivetrain is smooth as butter and the exo cage looks new.
My Bigrock didn't look this nice after 1 week...

Nice find. Looks great !!

Gonna give it a little TLC but she ran great today in the parking lot. Thanks man.

Nice find! Most of the so-called "lightly used" stuff I see for sale are in a lot worse shape than that.
And this wasn't even advertised that way. The pics looked okay online but I was pleaseantly surprised when I flipped it over, then pulled the body off to see how fresh it all was.

If it came with the RC4GS radio, it was an even better buy. The range on the RC4GS is 400m, which is way better than the stock radios, and more than a lot of aftermarket radios.

Hell yeah!!! I haven't researched it yet. Thanks for the intel!

Now that I've had time to lay hands on it this, it seems this wasn't all that it appeared to be. I probably should have knocked another 50-80 off but it looks like he spent some $$ though. New chassis plate ( no id tag or battery tray pad), new wing and wing mount, front CVDs appear new, and the rear RPM arms and right rear hub look pretty fresh as well. NIP front RPM arms. The motor has absolutely no free play and is smooth as silk ( maybe a replacement?)
Both diffs appear to have little, if any, wear... either replaced or original??? All the bearings are excellent too.
Most of the fasteners are; rounded out, cRusty, a few are bent, and some were missing... The side guards and battery blocks are missing, and 1 shock was leaky and mostly empty ( torn O-ring). All the wheels have been painted, 1 had a fused axle nut that I had to cut off and the rim is toast because the nut was glued to the wheel.
It's a new project... good thing I love to tinker.
Here's a fresh skin for the old girl. More to follow...

If it's a true v1 4s rig, hard to come by no doubt. Despite overall condition, a great find. Clean enough. With many goodies.
She'll treat me well, I hope. Thanks man!

More work today. I replenished the front diff w/15k fluid. The fluid level was slightly more than what I found in my 5 month old Bigrock and JRC diff purchases. Both diffs have little to no wear, and they may be original! What little fluid that was inside appeared pretty clean too.

I'll tell ya what, some folks shouldn't work on these things... red locktite was used liberally on the CVD's, slipper clutch, and quite possibly the... "owner fabbed" 😳, pinion screw. I ruined a hex tool trying to remove two of these screws...The heads were stripped on about a dozen of the screws throughout the rig. Fortunately I had a parts breaker screw kit for the 4S rigs that was barely used from my Outcast 4s build. I replaced about 1/3 of the fasteners that were in this car, either because they were stripped, or just plain missing.😖
Now that all the bad screws are gone this should be easier to work on down the line,

At this point the only place I hadn't peeked into was the receiver box. Low and behold, there were surprises there as well...🤯 The wiring for the steering servo had been pinched, nearly severing the ground wire. The receiver was unsecured in the box but there was piece of cellophane double sided tape loosely stuck to the receiver box floor. Geesh, ever hear of duct tape? 🤭

I discovered an oddity with the rear CVD's. I happen to have the upper portions that I bought new for my Outcast sitting on the table. When I pulled the Kratons rear end apart I noticed that the uppers are much shorter, and identical to my 3s cars CVDs.

It also occurred to me that there was no slop in the Kratons original metal shielded bearings in the hubs. On my Outcast build, the Fast Eddy spec'd. bearings that I installed in the hubs are all loose and I added .5mm shims to take up the endplay. I ended up ordering a second set of bearings from somewhere else for my Outcast because of this.

Well, it doesn't look like much but I undid some nasty work and damage to this rig by the previous owner. Replaced about 60.00 in parts, soldered and wrapped the severed servo wire, cleaned and lubed everything, topped all fluids expcept one rear shock ( waiting on parts), added cnc gears at the rear. I ordered side guards for the chassis, and a new body I found on Ebay for 25.00. Gonna run with the Minakowas for now. Its missing one axle that might be at the LHS around the corner that I ordered Monday. If they have it, I'm gonna give her a quick run tomorrow.
Took a couple of side by side pics of the Outcast and the Kraton. I'm pretty proud of the Outcast it's a ground up build and is finally complete, I can't wait to give it a run.

It never ceases to amaze me what some RC owners will do to their vehicles. Glad to see it's coming along. It looks like the cost of parts hasn't been too bad so far, and hopefully your costs won't increase substantially.

Had a quick rip on 3s tonight after rebuilding the shock. Boy she flies. Punch seems low, because she stays planted (almost no wheelies) but boogies with authority. Thinking the weight of the exo cage might be keeping her down as well. The transmitter browned out on me because the battery door is bowed causing the batteries to lose connection and I ended up slamming into my garage door with no power. No big deal, the body is a basher body, I can live with the damage...

I did change the ESC settings using the set button because the spektrum program card doesn't work with this unit. I upped the punch to 4 ( factory was 2) and tried it out. No problems pulling air on 4, but with the stock CVD's I backed it down to 3. I also added 25% more braking (was at 50%).
Gonna play with it some more but I liked the response at these settings. Need to charge up a 4s pack and give a run later today.

Hard to decide between this and my 4s Outcast, but I may have found a new favorite car with a few tweaks. This thing is sic compared to the Bigrock. The wide stance keeps it planted in the corners and the 4s power is nice.
Very happy with this purchase. I may end up moving some of my Outcasts components onto this LWB chassis.

I added Integy shock tower plates today. The compression spring on the back of the wing mount needs to be shaved for it to fit at the rear. Front is easy peazy.
Also got a set of Backflip LPs and a new body to mount. She's looking pretty again.
Backflips are on their way.
Edit:
I also added the battery tray pad and battery spacers.

Well, today's Blast and bash ended up with a chewed up slipper hub. Ran great until I stared jumping with the original slipper setup. Went thru 2 packs on this car alone. Really had fun with it.
Was very happy the diff didn't break! ..AND the universals held up as well!! ( even the one I pressed back together!
