Typhon Kraton 4s Slipper Clutch in Arrma Typhon Mega

Hey all! I am new to this forum and have recently gotten a Arrma Typhon Mega. This is my first Arrma and am wondering if others have used the 4s Kraton Slipper clutch in a typhon 3s or mega before? I have a vxl 3s esc and 540 xl motor in it just need a slipper clutch upgrade for use with 32 pitch or .8mod. I saw the Kraton 4s slipper clutch and was wondering if that heavy duty one would do the trick and take the power of this setup.

It will work u need a mod 0.8 pinion for the motor. People upgrade to the metal gear for the 3s trucks

Thanks! I just ordered it from JennysRc ( so much better priced!). I have a 14tooth .8 mod pinion for it already. Do you have an idea of what pinion what be the best for it though? Maybe a 17tooth pinion?

I run a 15t i believe i ran a 15t in my kraton 4s v1? Stock is 13T

Ok. So you think a 14tooth pinion should work fine for a Typhon? My traxxas hoss uses a 14t pinion stock on 3s and gets 37 mph.

Yeah should work fine and reach approximatively 45mph or so. My kraton 4s reached 50mph+ on 13t but had bigger tires than buggy tires. On 15th it was wilder and more agressive maybe 55+mph

Great thanks! My hoss runs on 4s with a 14 tooth and it does backflips as well as hitting 53 mph. All I did for that on my hoss is use steel driveshafts and use a vxl 4s esc because the 540xl motor installed can take more power then the 3s esc that comes stock.

You shouldn't have issues with the axles on the typhon. My kraton 4s is still on the plastic shafts that came with it. Just make sure ur clutch is setup properly i don't trust the guys who put them together . You can gear up if you want more speed
