Trucks 2 weeks old now.

My 6th time taking it out on grass, gravel, and pavement. Nothing serious and the truck hasn’t been higher than a foot or so off the ground.

Today 5 minutes into my bash the truck just locked up and wouldn’t move. After going over it I realized the front axle ripped out of the passenger front differential outdrive. It ripped the metal a part ?. Is that a common issue? The front driver side is about to rip out as well. I imagine I’ll have to replace both. And check out what’s going on in the rear next.

other than a rpm bumper and new tires.. I haven’t installed any of my mods for it yet.

And of course I left the kraton 8s at home haha because I didn’t feel like lugging them both along today ?

Nope. Just now got it loaded back into the car. Heading home
Have you taken diff apart yet? That is not normal at all.

I can tell you that nothing else is broke though

And everything still spins freely and when I spin the other wheel it turns it. It’s not binding or anything. It was normal and wasn’t making any noises. Came down from a wheelie and just locked up because the axle ripped out and then locked that wheel up because the axle was pinned between the outdrive shaft and the chassis

I’ll bet the droop screws properly adjusted. Dogbones have tedency to slip out and wreak havoc.

It looks like th CVD popped out, no?

Yes that’s the correct name for it. I called it the axle while I was trying to load everything in the car. But it ripped the metal on the outdrive and then fell out yes.
Just didn’t expect it to rip out. It’s so tight I can’t even wiggle the cvd drive shaft/axle away from the chassis. I’ll have to tear the arm off to get it back in.. and at that point I’ll be tearing it apart for new outdrive’s anyways lol

The damage to the outdrives happened after the cvd popped out. When the shock is totally compressed the cvd doesn't sit nearly as far in the cup as it does while the arms are level.

Remove the spacers at the ends of the AArms. Will put more of the dogbone into the diff cup and take a look at droop screws.

I’ll check out the spacers. I never noticed it being that lose in the outdrive. Hope I can prevent it from happening all the time.

Too much grip with these backflip tires lol

I tried compressing the shock to free up the cvd and it won’t budge. I don’t know how it would come that far out. But your more experienced than I am. So I’m going to take your word on it. What sucks the most.. is that I live an hour from the hobby shop and I’ve already made 4 trips this week lmao

Something definitely looks odd here. Does that out drive look angled to you? Maybe just my eyes playing tricks here.

Order a full diff from jenny rc.

Here’s the update. I’m not sure if it’s bent or not but both sides have deff been chewing into the arms. The pics with nothing is the side that popped out. And the one still together is the driver side. The outdrive looks chewed up on that one too.

I don't suspect jenny to get stock soon and the couple I did find are asking way to much for them. This is the part number for the cups ARA310439
You could buy a rebuild kit for about $45 I highly recommend upgrading your bearings running in that sandy/dusty of a condition.

The arms get chewed when that end of the CVD is out of the cup and spinning against the A-Arm. I have that on a few of my trucks.

The outdrive rubs the arm with out the cvd in. I compressed the shock and arm with the cvd out to see. I believe it’s bent. In the pics below you can see the outdrive shaft hitting the arm when compressed(cvd is in but it still touches when the ends are flat)

I have fast eddy bearings for it once these ones start to go

Just posted a similar thread. Going to try removing the a arm spacers so it sits more snug. Although I guess I could take it all apart and get into the diffss... I have the day off and want to bash! Had my k6 3 weeks

Who's buddies with someone at Arrma? The pillow ball spacers gotta go in the next revision. They only cause problems.

Curious why they are included? Wondering what the theory was for using them
