Kraton Kraton 6s v5 rebuild

So on Christmas Day we started with some breakdancing RCs while all the neighbors had fast cars. Went and bought 2 “legendary” cars. Both 1/10 scale. One for my daughter and a thunder for me..... did not end well.

My buddy bought a Arrma big rock and beats the crap out of it. Sent my Thunder back to Amazon orders a Kraton 6s V5 RTR.

hit a tree head on first run and cracked the front Diff holder. Still ran. Broke the wing mount as well later after a huge jump

second time out. Broke the replacement wing mount and front bumper destroyed. R/f shock bent. Rear suspension holder bent.

3rd time out. After 2 minutes car quit running called horizon sending me new ESC

buddy purchased Castle Momba 8x ESC and 1640v motor. Ordered myself and installed

installed HR rear wing mount. And RPm front bumper

had to order new transmitter. Spektrum 6100 and DX5C controller. Installed and had reverse problems. Blew center diff hitting breaks. Went to hobby shop they reversed the motor and set up all my trims and steering


changed gear from 19 to 22T hammered it on. Destroyed motor.
Ordered another motor.

Went out again did some big jumps that I said I wouldn’t and finished destroying front Diff housing


orders EXB center lsd Diff. Ordered stock front Diff housing. Installed all good.

had motor gear spin off. ( castle) back to the drawing board.
Ordered HR front and rear diff holders. Bulk heads. Sway bar holder. EXB front and rear shock towers. HR front lower control arm holder. EXB front and rear upper and lower suspension. Holders. Front and rear LSD diffs. HR servo arm. Techno 22T gear. Now just waiting for everything. To get here.

Cheez I will say. The EXB chassi that says wrench bash repeat is truly appropriate I spend way more time working on this thing than driving it. I would says it’s 90/10 working/driving

Forgot to mention. I have the proto motor mount! ( best purchase yet). Ordered the HR center diff mount. (It’s short so didn’t install). Every bolt I have taken out I’ve replaced with either stainless of bulk head screws. ( I can’t count how many I’ve stripped.) Waiting for inner EXB bearings for front and rear diffs and 10k oil for the rear diff need to order the test of the proto center diff mount components. Honestly. I’m following my buddy Arin with what he buys. I’ve missed a few things. He’s got a Mojave EXB post going on..

I thought I was rough on mine. The hr wing mount will either bend or damage other parts. I don't like aluminum parts for somethings it just transfers the energy to the next weakest part.

Honestly. That had me bent over laughing. I’m new to this. So when the logo says send it.... I send it. I’m still laughing trying to write this. Lmao

My cousins was into racing RCs and he said everything aluminum. (poop. I’m still laughing at that previous post.). The HR aluminum wing has held up great! I cartwheeled about 60 yards and it was ok good. ( forgot to add I have the outcast rear wing)

So except for the HR servo mount and I think the aluminum whatever you call it for where the steering arm attaches to the post I’m done. Found the GPS module front Spektrum! Installed works awesome.

My buddy Arin and I actually found a wide open spot today. Got some speed runs. Some mud and some air. We both went through 3 packs

broke my rear wing and had a screw fall out. He had a screw fall out as well. I guess a lot has to do with where you go!

Never got over 51mph. I don’t think it works correctly.
