Arrma RC's
  1. Kraton 6s
Hello everyone, new to here and well RC in general. I bought the kraton 6s V5 around Christmas time. The wife said go big or go home haha. I was looking at a 1/10 like the Vorteks to start with. Anyways, as predictable I’ve smashed it pretty good. Bent one of the front shocks, have since put new ones on. But upon diving deeper I see that I cracked through the front gearbox as well.

So question - what is a higher quality gearbox to replace it with vs the stock one? I have ordered and received the M2C front and rear shock towers, since the front shock tower was bent really good as well. I’d like a silver one to match the M2C prettiness if possible. Should I upgrade the internal gears? What to get?

I’ve bought the Monster servo PP-SRV-1 by perfect pass to put in. Hopefully I made a decent choice there. I hat would be a good silver servo mount to use? To keep the silver color going. Anything else I should do to go with it?

Any brand parts I should avoid? I’d like to slowly get rid of the red parts on it.

Is there a screw set I can order that are good? I’ve bent several screws as well lol!

Anything else I should look at doing immediately?

I know newbies can be exhausting to deal with, but I’m trying at least. Some of this stuff gets really confusing the longer you look at something.

Thanks for any help!

First welcome to the forums and the hobby.

Any good 12.9 grade screw set from amazon should be fine stick with the black oxide screw there harder then stainless.
Bulk or odd sizes https://monsterbolts.com/

Get Mip drivers so you don't strip screws.

Hot racing this is just the box top half and sway bar part are another item from HR https://www.amazon.com/Hot-Racing-AON12M01-Aluminum-Bulkhead/dp/B0BPYPJQTZ/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1G8D9DJGSQL0H&keywords=hot+racing+arrma+gear+box&qid=1677083753&sprefix=hot+racing+arrma+gear+box,aps,149&sr=8-6&ufe=app_do:amzn1.fos.304cacc1-b508-45fb-a37f-a2c47c48c32f

Or Vitavon gear box this is both bottom and top half of box with sway bar plate https://www.vitavon-racing.com/for-...rear-bulkhead-for-arrma-6s-ar310854-products/

IMO: Integy and GPM are cheap parts if you can avoid them for something better. With this as of righting this is think allegedly Tboneracing is still taken over by scammers after closing there doors so avoid there site.

The perfect pass servo is great right next to the 55kg AG7 water proof https://www.amazon.com/AGFRC-A86BHMW-Waterproof-AGF-SPV3-Programmer/dp/B0BGRBWJ8Y with programing card.

With the gear box M2C captured hinge pins can take a good amount of load off the boxes in a good crash they kind of act like and exo-cage for the base of the gear box were the stock just folds because the pins can pull out of the holes. https://m2cracing.net/shop/shop.php...EM-v2-v3-v4-v5/p/478001499/category=136157755 and https://m2cracing.net/shop/shop.php...2-v3-v4-EXB-v5/p/478044796/category=136157755
Note they have a new set for the front EX bumper some were on there sight I can't find right now.

Yea the wife is pretty great!

Bashing with a vengeance! I love it lol. So this is what happened, after some heavy rain, where everything was still wet (if that’s an excuse 😅) I was going full bore up and down the road. Well one “last” run back down I went over the side down the ditch and slammed right into the concrete tube that goes under driveway ends. 🤣. Then is was face first down in the water. I got it out, rinsed it down and then blew it out very well with a data vac.

I will definitely be going over that blueprint and be checkout this Jennysrc soon. Thank you!

Some very good recommendations there🙂☝️ Vitavon & m2c makes some nice quality pieces. For a servo mount, take a look @ Just Bash It, they make a very nice 1 piece aluminum mount (I have a few of them)
Thank you, I will check out the just bash it site. Yea I feel at least more m2c is in my future lol.

Hello and thank you for the reply.

I will look for some 12.9 screws also check out the Jenny site mentioned by the other person.

I bought most everything from Protek as well after reading about cheap tool sets. I like the stuff so far.

I think I will do the Vitavon over HR. Vitamin says it’s 7075 aluminum.

I had a weird feeling with the integy and GPM stuff.

Good to hear on the servo! Phew lol. And it seems m2c will be getting more funds from me now lol.

Thanks again!

Hello, do you know which servo mount I would need with the perfect pass servo?

Yea I was like oh no hmmm, cause they have two. A regular height and a tall version. Thank you though. I’ll try to dive into it more.
Make sure to get the regular height: the tall ones might require spacers to keep the bottom from hitting the chassis, which can then adversely affect the angle of the servo link.
