Evening all. Could someone please tell me if I can swap chassis to the EXB one. Not sure which one I've got but after changing the front diff housing. Found out that it's bent

Yup that's normal. The front of the chassis has a kick up.

Cheers chaps. Think I've finally found out what's wrong with the car after months of replacing bits.

The diff housing was cracked! Never even thought about the housing and was more focused on the diffs themselves. Ordered a new front shock tower and fitted the brand me houses today.

Fingers crossed this is the end of a horrible start

Bash, repair and repeat. That's all in the name of the game. I've broken so many gearbox cases on my 6s rigs.

make sure you shim your diffs right

Added two on both and it's nice and snug now. Might need change the oil as they are loose as frig

Glad you found it. I've had an issue with a gearbox case before. Made horrible noises. Turned out it was warped. @slick2500 helped me figure it out. Said look for plastic shavings inside the case. Bingo. Replaced case, all good.

I went thru the same thing. Couldn't tell it, till after I completely removed it, bare. And compared to a new one. The ring gear had contacted the inside. Found it after I cleaned it all up. It was just crooked, I guess.

Thinking to go down the aluminium route but don't fancy paying 40 odd quid for 1 housing at the moment

Yeah what I've gone with. First time ordering from jennys as I'm in the UK but spot on

Plus, it comes with a new differential. Win. Jennys is good. Had a package from them show up today.
