Super excited for my castle esc and motor to come.

for the month or two wait I got a HS motor from rc juice .. 4274 sensored 1350kv. I’ll throw the mmx8s at it and see what it can do while I wait for the 1717 ...

I just had to take a comparison photo for everyone... this thing is gonna be big. It’s still quite a bit smaller than the xmaxx but with that castle setup in it it’s gonna be savage.

Soooo, I’ve ordered a few things for the kraton XL... krajave mojavaton... I don’t even know what to call this thing..

I got the Jeep body at first.. and I might still use it... but then I kept looking and saw a 2014 Silverado body that I also wanted so I ordered that too.

I have a set of belted trenchers on the way..

Robinson racing 50T Spur, figured I’m gonna be running 8s... might wanna get some beefier stuff... and stock up on diff parts... ha.

Few different cooling options, not sure which to go with yet or what will fit..

My castle MMX8S comes today. Soon as the hobbystar motor comes in from RC juice I’ll throw it in and see what we got..

Gladiator body showed up today... it looks mighty purty.. Whew.. lot of work.

On a positive note it was super hard to cut and super thick.. means ??Hopefully it’ll be a good durable body.

My sticker sheet for masking came uncut unfortunately... you could tell it was tried to be cut but pro-line needs to either change their pressure settings or their blades cause it ain’t working. Anyways , now I’m gonna have to cut out some black vinyl for the windows.. no big deal just kinda annoying.

Here is how she sits currently... I think it turned out pretty good.

got the MMX8S yesterday in the mail. Might wire it up so it’s all ready for the big bad 1717 ..

The power leads seemed super short to me, is this normal? I had to throw in a set of lipos just to see if it was gonna reach... it does,JUST! Not sure why they made them so short ?

yea it fits fantastic, I just notched out the back (like the notorious has) for the wing mount and it was solid! I think it’ll look even better from the front once that TBR bumper shows up... stay tuned! There’s more to come

the 14’ Silverado body is in route. Excited to see how that one turns out too. ( I always have a bash shell and a park shell for my rigs... usually..)

Well, I couldn’t stand looking at this beautiful rig waiting on stuff ... so I threw a stock blx system in there with a 13t pinion and took it for a rip...

I love this truck already. I cannot wait for it to have proper power, that castle setup is gonna be ultimate smash mode.

I also built a pretty dandy body support for the taller body.

Also, on an absolutely excellent note i just got an email saying my castle motor shipped! Oh snap! Can’t wait!

Yea it was a slow introduction and my music choices were A bit ....limited.

Yep, the blx 185 from the V3 kraton, it moves pretty good! Still can’t believe

Also, I just realized it had a stock diff in it with 100k diff fluid. Needs to be thicker..

I cannot wait for the 1717, it’s gonna be intense. Think I’ll be running on 6s for awhile... haha. Who am I kidding I’m sure I’ll have 8s in it in no time.

I really should have just sprung for the m2c chassis up front... I’m really wanting one now... ?

Gotta wait for JRC to get parts back in stock. I try not to pay retail when I am buying half an RC worth of parts...

Next project for me will be to convert my Typhon back into a Typhon then a speed runner. Won't go crazy on power, so hopefully it won't cost me too much $$$... LOL

But I will be watching the kit breakers for M6s parts so I can build my K6SXL.

Castle came. Installed. Now all my power is in the reverse direction. And there’s no way for me to swap it without castle link? Man... getting frustrated.

Ok, it’s in.. AND working...

Got everything figured out. After a few choice words and head scratching it’s all working properly.

Not as “fast” as I was expecting.. I’ve heard with these bigger cans you gotta gear em to make em really wake up. Might also be those massive trenchers holding me back. Probably put the backflips back on and change it from the 16T that’s in it to a 18-20T.

And yeah, you lost some KV with that motor, so you gotta make it up with either a bigger pinion or more volts.

Looks like it is gonna be fun!

Got the Chevy body done... well. All except the black windows... I’ll cut those out soon.

I think it turned out ok. I really like the blue color.

Ended up with the duratrax metallic blue with a white “back coat”.

20T pinion goes on this am, hopefully my wife can get out and film it a bit ... ha.
