I think I need to get a handle on this diff issue before I start doing major mods. That Silverado body is a beaut tho ??

I technically have 3 kratons... ones an exb, ones a bulletproof beast and ones a kraton xl with some exb parts.

I think it’s time for the 1717 combo to go in something else... I’m not sure what yet, but I’ll be putting a spektrum 8s system in to replace it. Figure if it can lug a K8S around my little Kraton XL won’t even make it flinch.

Might end up putting the castle into the outcast EXB I’m hoping to finish up this week. That way they Kraton EXB and the outcast EXB will have the same power system in them ??
 
Started working on it yesterday, got it all torn down and now I’m in the process of making everything fit properly.

had to trim the side guard to fit around heat sink.

Had to trim the heat sink on fin from both sides...

showint the clearance between chassis and motor. The heat sink supports it all the way through so there shouldn’t be any flex allowed. (Keeps the motor mount from flexing, motor shafts from snapping on hard landings and so on)

24T pinion is the largest size pinion you can fit with the stock motor mount, it is completely 100% maxed and meshes perfectly with the Robinson racing spur.

Put washers under this side so it doesn’t pull away from the tape..

Have a slight bulge due to the way I mounted the ESC.. I felt it was worth it in order to be able to get the screws in the esc plate...

Slowly turning this thing into a kraton EXB XL. Haha.

It is a Mojave chassis complete with side guards Center braces and T2T .. and the rest is all Kraton, and kraton EXB.

The original towers I put on were garbage. Hobby king on eBay. So I decided I would put the exb kraton towers on... well. To put those on and have things be right you have to have the exb arms... well... if you have the arms you need the pins. And since I had those I also ordered the captured hinge pins and the EXB compatible black steering plate.

I’m just waiting for them to release the Kraton XLWB 7075 chassis, then once the diffs are released, it’ll have EXB diffs.

And as things break I’ll replace with EXB , or comparable. ??

Got most my EXB parts for it. Some more on the way.

I have a relatively beefed up Mojave/ kraton hybrid build myself and love it but there area few things till need to do in order for it to take the full bear down bashing I intend to give it very soon. Need to get some better steering components to lock things in nice and tight especially and was thinking of going with exb parts to help with that. Appreciate the explanation of what is needed in reference to hinge pins, a arms etc for them to all fit properly. Loving that body bte and it seemed pretty hard to find a body to fit nicely while continuing to have the support of the center body support etc etc may I ask which body that is specifically and if any serious mods needed done for it to fit well? Thanks for the post man.

How’s it going. Are you referring to the Silverado body? Or the jeep body I had on earlier in the thread??

if it’s the Silverado one (the one I like and prefer. It fits the best) the part number is: PRO343000. I just used kraton body posts. And as for the center body support I just used an adutional center support from a v3 outcast and zip tied it to the kraton one. Worked perfect supports the top well. ??

I love how perfect that motor seems it fit in there. The power out of it is so linear. My castle 1717 mmx8s isn't as powerful obviously but way snappier off the line which I find fun at first but lose interest in the novelty of it quick where as the 5687 is a freight train just keeps pulling and pulling. There isn't a soft spot in that powerband at all.

Stock springs 3/4 turned down and 4oz 1000cst mixed with 1oz 5000cst mine is also 7075 everything

Also all 3 exb diffs front less setup at 30k
Middle less at 100k with just a touch of million
Rear less with 3k 3k is perfect for running lsd in rear
