I've only ran about 10 charges on my k8s. The ring and pinion were fine but I lost the internal diff bevel gears because the design flaw of the undersized shims behind the drive bevelgears. The outer diameter is too small. I have since upgraded to the vivaton shims and diff cases.

I’m referring to the 6s EXB V2 that comes with aluminum diff cases. I have the V1 with all kinds of M2C and some Vitavon. I’m eyeing the V2 and was just wondering how much better, if any it is. The one thing keeping me away is the lack of parts support I saw after it dropped. The wing mount and center diff configuration are a big change in parts that don’t fit the previous models.
I have countless arrma rigs and I think I've had to replace a ring gear once? I don't even know if it was once or never but I definitely never heard or experience this "problem". I think I end up needing to replace plastic bulkhead's more than anything.

As long as you shim your diffs properly, you should be fine, unless you have a habit of landing on throttle. That is what kills a ring and pinion 99.999% of the time.
I think the aluminum gearboxes are only half of the formula. You need aluminum diff cases to go with the aluminum gearboxes if you're looking to eliminate all the flex and gear slippage.
