I would check something in the Savox line. I've had very good luck with mine and they have various specs like waterproof, high speed, high torque, high voltage. Just pick what specs you want.

I'm a newb and I too am looking to upgrade the Kraton servo . There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info out there but i see a few people using/recommending
Savox 1256TG and Hitec HS-7955TG . So I'm looking for one with similar specs only waterproof . I know the stock is analog and the ones people are using are digital.
From what i have read the digital is faster and has more torque . I don't know what applications or the advantages of high voltage are . Also external BEC keeps coming up and I'm not sure what it is or how/why it is used . I know this isn't much help OP but here are the specs .

Gerald did you come up with anything ?

I may have found exactly what I'm looking for . The Savox SW-1210SG Waterproof Coreless Steel Gear Digital Servo-savsw1210sg seems to be a waterproof Savox SC-1256TG . The specs are identical except it has metal gears ( which i wanted anyway ) and is slightly larger and slightly heavier.
I'm guessing it's a little heavier because of the waterproofing and steel gears over Ti and Aluminum.

Does anyone have experience with the Savox SW-1210SG . Here are the comparative specs .

What did u end up buying?

Anyone found a proven reliable servo?
I am planning to buy the GKA Servo mount as well so i want to make sure it will fit.

The Savox options above are all good. When you order the GKA mount, you will need to let them know which servo you are going to use. The Savox 1212SG is taller than the stock servo and will require spacers to make the fit correctly. GKA has the spacers as well.

Just ready with my servo upgrade! Savox SC-1268SGB "Black edition", fit pefekt in GKA's rigid mount. Fed with 7,4V from a CC BEC. The fact sheet promice me 26kg/cm and 0,11 sec/60deg. Huge difference from original! My stock servo was not damaged (yet) so it can start a new life in my drift car where it will replace the slow stock servo of only 4,5 kg!!!!!!!! Can't wait to go out and "push the limits":)

After a lot of research i found the best option from my point of view Savox SA-1283SG with 416.6 torque at 6V and 0.13 speed, can't wait to recieve and install in my new Kraton

The 1210sg fits perfectly in the gka mount without mods or spacers....plug and play :D

I double checked my PMs with Greg from GKA. He told me the Savox 1210SG will need spacers. I put it in this weekend with the stock Mount, and there is a small gap between the bottom on the mount legs, and the chassis. And the Servo is flat against the chassis pan. I'll be adding the spacers, once the mount come in.

Maybe i have superpowers lol no but really i will check when back home

reading my last post; I kind of sound like a jerk. My bad.

I am now wondering if I actually paid for the spacers and if he's sending them or not. So I think I will need some. And I needed a spacer to level out my steering link. I made that one real quick out of the old steering assembly, but it's crude as heck. I would like to replace that one. Anyway, I found a set of spacers on ebay. it comes with 4 each of 4 different sizes 2mm, 4mm, 6mm, & 8mm. Here is the link, just in case.

In the case that you do buy a taller servo than the stock servo the tall arm on the stock servo horn can really start to angle the linkage between the servo horn and the bell crank. I am using an Axial 25T servo horn and it is just at the perfect length for the Kraton. I did still have to use a 3mm spacer to make the likage level, but way better than the 8mm spacer I was going to need.

Part # Axial AX30836
