Just blew my rear differential on my Kraton. Looking to get something of really good quality that will hold up. Any recommendations? Looking at either the EXB Arrma or the vitavon

if its the v6 kraton your running it already has the EXB diffs

That’s what I had thought. It didn’t have any markings on it when I took it out so I was a little confused. I will probably just put the exb back in. Thanks

how's it blown have you lost teeth on the diff ring or pinion

I use the Treal aluminum cup. From Amain hobbies It’s one piece great quality and cheaper. Anything Vitavon is top notch.
Personally I’d go with whichever I could get the quickest, Amazon may have something one day out.

What do you mean by blew diff? Is it stripped gears inside the diff or outside?

Really about the best you can do is order a Whole new diff from Jenny’s. If they are out of kraton V6 diffs the Big Rock has the same diffs. Buying all those parts separately is a lot more expensive and you may have damage you can’t see. I put aluminum cups and aluminum gearboxes on all my 6s Arrmas. I have 10. Just putting the Hot Racing diff cover on helps a lot. Plastic flexes and gears don’t like that. Good luck 👍

Interesting two recent v6 diff failures..

Some rough bashing?

Mind posting a picture?
I think it’s from too much throttle when landing. I’ve been jumping it a good bit pretty rough. Biggest rc I’ve owned so still getting used to it

Vitavon steel are the only sun/planetary set that will hold up to big bashing on high traction surfaces. The cast stuff will fail from too much drivetrain shock.

don't think I've ever stripped the teeth of the inner blx gears never mind the EXB one's . I've taken plenty of teeth of the ring and pinion diff gears on the blx diffs though when I didn't no what I was doing with the shims and throttle control

It was definitely shimmed enough it was super tight in the diff case. The ring and pinion were fine but the inner was destroyed. Like I said it’s the biggest rc I’ve owned in still learning a lot about it all. It’s been super fun but I’m being pretty rough on it

What diff oil are you using? If too thin, excessive spinning could damage the spider gears.
it was whatever came in it from factory

Stock v6 is 80/100/80..should be fine. Most people experiment based on their driving style and terrain to find a balance they are comfortable with. I run 60/500/30 on the Kraton v5 with 4985 motor and 18T pinion.

On my kraton v5 I have 60k front, center 80k and rear 20k , in this way the model is very manageable 👍👍
