Thanks! Unfortunately the shipping cost to the UK is almost the same as the product.

I'll look for a locally available alternative. I'll be in Seattle at the end of April so I could get this one while I'm there as a plan B.

Oh dang my bad i didn't realize that!

This adapter also fits the Spektrum 6s ESC’s. It allows the use of any 40mm fan and unlike some others does not offset the fan, which my OCD can’t cope with.

I also have moved to the 40x28 fans everywhere I can fit them.

This is a very inexpensive approach that outperforms much pricier setups from RC “boutique” merchants and is an alloy mount which also acts as an additional heatsink to some extent.
This is my go-to setup now for pretty much any 6s ESC.

Unless you’re wide open back and forth in tall grass, you have an ESC fan locked up or it’s time to service driveline bearings and diffs.

Every 10-20 packs depending on driving style, if it touched snow or sand even more frequent.

Thanks very much. It’s a completely stock Kraton v6 so surely it should be designed to run in all environments? I wouldn’t have thought that changing the pinion would be required.

However, it’s a much cheaper solution than replacing the electronics so I think I’ll try it. I also think that the ESC fan is very low RPM for its size so maybe there’s a way to install a larger one with a different mount.
Motor timing, set it lower ~ less than 15

Took the car out today after fitting a Tekno 15T pinion and the noise that I mentioned in my other thread is gone, so it must've been a worn pinion and/or bad mesh.

The 15T pinion definitely calms it down and I'm glad I didn't go to 14T, although I was worried that only one less tooth wouldn't be enough to make a difference to my temp problem. I can tell that it's improved the temps, and the motor and ESC no longer burnt my skin off although the ambient temps are a bit cooler today.

I can run the car at 100% on the transmitter now and it's much more controllable. Definitely not unhappy with my decision to downsize :)

I run 14t on most of my 6s cars. only have a 15t on my kraton 6s that has the titanium chassis and shock towers and other aluminium upgrade parts on cause its a bit heavy :) its well planted though
