Hello all,

Just getting back into RCs after over a decade but have a lot of experience building and racing from younger days. My kids are what inspired me to get back into the Hobby and I have been having a lot if fun over the last several months resurrecting old school vehicles I had put away like my original Blackfoot, DoubleDare, Hawk, Rustler, and then building some newer trucks like my CC01 scaler modded for a Tonka Bronko Body for the kids, my LCG Castle Brushless Slash and my Castle Brushless heavily modded Summit with every LEM part you can buy. Unfortunately I keep blowing diffs with castle big block even with the LEM parts and correct shimming so isn't the kind of fun I was hoping to have out with the family. When I saw the Nero I decided to buy some parts first to see if it truly was as tough as it looked online so I ordered just the bulkhead and diffs. After seeing the size and quality of those I decided I would slowly build my own Nero from scratch using the best pieces as I go from the multiple platforms or suggestions on this forum so that it would be somewhat bulletproof out the gate. This will be a longer work in progress since I already invested so much into the other RCs I have but Worry suggested it would be great to document the progress as I go on the forum. I will post pics and lessons learned as I go and of course am very open to anyone suggestions and advise when it comes to alternate parts or hop ups so I'm not constantly replacing stuff on the truck once it's running. I plan to use the castle 2200 mamba combo I have in the summit as the motor/ESC for the Nero and put the Summit back to more of a traditional torque crawler. I also have a nice set of mud slingers for it from my Summit and go back to stock on my Summit. Parts list if what I have so far and progress pics of the Nero coming soon. Hope you enjoy!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated in a while. Three little ones running around and traveling for work more than I would like so not a lot of free time. I did get a some time here and there though to work on the Nero (mainly late at night at the cost of sleep...Lol) and get some stuff together. It's far from finished and I did have to rob some parts from my Traxxas Summit to temporarily use for test runs until I have more parts and time but atleast I have more than bags of parts. I will post more pics of what I put together when I can but figure I can atleast get some of the big highlights uploaded. Again, don't be too offended the final product looks very Traxxas Summit like for now since I had the Traxxas big block brushless system that the ERevo uses,, several sets of Geode wheels so modded a set with the Mudslingers to fit the Nero and also have 3 Summit bodies with ExoCages so using my Proline Apocalypse body on the Nero for now so it's a cross between a Nero and a Brushless Summit. Hope you enjoy...

Been a long time since I posted new pics. O O actually built a stretched Big Rock and moved a lot of the aftermarket parts on to that. Also decided I liked the Nero mounting for some of the low profile design so the end result is a mix of the two and a homemade stretched chassis, with stretched center shafts built from hot racing sliding drive shafts. The main shafts are the hit racing heavy duty splined shafts. Just picked up a 1/5 scale servo and a hobbystar 4092 motor now that I have the length but didn't get them in yet.

On the other side I'm talking tll the leftover parts and rebuilding my Nero into a Fazon with Hevay Duty upgrade parts but keeping it stock length.

Rough test fit of the two bottom sections spanning the gap. Will clean it up once I'm sure about the design/length.

Hot Racing HD splined driveshafts and spring steel tie rods, now just need the GKA rocker arms.

As for the Fazon, I need two diff servos to get it built back together and then just need to decide if I go stock with a Fazon body and bumpers or some other direction.
