i am looking to change out my stock battery tray in my kraton 6s as i now have the hobbywing g2 combo in there and am running on 8s using a pair of socokin 4s 6500 100c batteries they can be forced to fit in the tray if i stack them on top of each other but its hard to get the body to go over the mounting post plus it seems like the extra weight up high on one side of the car isnt ideal

id like to find a battery tray that would allow me to place them side by side there is enough room on chassis plate to do so but i cant find any prefabbed aftermarket options anybody have suggestions???

I'm not sure of any aftermarket ones. I've used Kydex plastic to make several RC homemade items. It's very tough, & bends easily with just a little heat & retains it's shape afterwards. It's a type of ABS. 1/16" or 0.090" thick can be cut with shop scissors.

can i buy it locally like at a home depot or other hardware store or would i have better luck online

I've run the full range of aftermarket battery trays. The ones with carbon or aluminum bases all suffered from the same problem, the straps get cut off at the base plate sending my batteries flying. I would recommend the Tupperware solution.

I really wish someone would make a better battery tray all the aftermarket ones suck and the Hot Racing one doesn't fit the EXB or V5 cars.

What would the ideal battery tray look like?

Basically the same thing but 5mm wider 10mm taller, omit the plastic thing and just give us another velcro strap. There are so many batteries that can't fit in the Arrma battery tray because they are wider than 50mm, sure you can sometimes squeeze them in there but then the sides bulge out and the spur hits the battery tray.
