So I ordered a Mojave exb and I have the mamba monster x 8s system with the 1717 1650kv motor coming for it. The included pinion is way to small so I ordered a 21 and 23 tooth (The way I calculated it a 20 tooth would get me slightly faster speeds than the stock rtr). What I was wondering is how big of a pinion can I fit into the stock motor mount? Also I am going to be running it on 6s for the first month or so and that's what I based my calculations on.

I use a HW Max6 1650KV Combo in my MEXB, tried 16T, 20T and 24T. The HW 4985 - 1650kv Motor has a lot of torque, you will love it with your 1717.

I'll post a build thread when I start getting parts. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Seems like I'm good with my 23 tooth then. Thanks for your input!
On 6s with that system I got 60MPH on pavement and around 47mph on grass with stock tires. 👍. On 8s I got 52mph on grass with that same system, gearing and stock tires BTW. 🤣👍

Do you use a fan on your motor? I'm debating whether or not I should buy one.

It's always a good idea to run a fan I would highly suggest picking up 1 or 3 as the stock ESC fan doesn't do much at all either.

my 6s Fan-Setup, motor and ESC always cool.
