Arrma RC's
  1. Kraton EXB
  2. Notorious
  3. Outcast 6s
I have a Kraton 6s which is a blast, but just needs more room than I have, and is more truck than I use. Plus, I need cash, so it's on the chopping block.

Before I go completely rc-car-less though, I thought about downgrading to something smaller and cheaper. There's a dirt track by my house with jumps and stuff my kids and I would enjoy.

Please recommend me any brand, model, size that fits these criteria:

- smaller than 1/8
- goes at least 35-40+ mph
- very light
- cheaper than my Kraton 6s
- somewhat durable (no bashing hard, just front yard and dirt track)

I had a 2wd Circuit Stadium ECX 1/10 that I absolutely LOVED, but it was brushed, NiCd, and too fragile. Maybe a Typhon 3s? Some other truggy, buggy, stadium, short course rig?

Thanks fellas!

What do you all think about buying a an ECX Stadium ($139) and just throwing a $90 3s brushless combo on there? For $250 sounds like a decent rig?

Typhon 6s but run it on 4s. Ever since turning mine back into a buggy (was stretched and speed running for a couple of years) I've enjoyed it more than ever. On 4s, it still boogies, gets decent air, and is a ton of fun on small tracks. It's also way more durable on 4s than it ever was on 6s. Only real upgrade on mine is the @3d-rc.myshopify.com wing mounts and a TLR light wait wing.

Instead of doing all that..
Might as well go with a HyperGo truggy then..

The Kraton/Outcast 4S V2s are not much smaller than the 6S, I'm not sure if that will fit what OP is describing. Although if it is.. hell yeah the Kraton 4S is awesome!

Have you considered 1/14th scale? The Team Associated Reflex 14MT has been getting rave reviews, it's brushless, well-equipped, center diff, oil-filled shocks etc. If you sell the K6 you'll probably have enough to buy this thing as well as a few batteries.. just a suggestion from someone who loves the little cars.

EDIT -- it also comes in buggy form (Reflex 14B) if that's more your style.

IMHO , even a 4x4 line Arrma will cost you about the same to maintain. You need the cash, yet this hobby requires expendable cash no matter how you slice it. Finding that one RC model that fits your wallet precisely is a tall order.
And FWIW, a Typhon 3s 4x4 is the same size as a 6s Typhon anyway. Both are still 1/8 scale. You can even run a 6s Typhon with 4s or 3s lipos. How I fly. Can even do this with your K6s if space and room for running is limited. You can setup/ gear any rig to dial it in to most any space you are running it in.
Not sure what you mean by K6s needs more room or space. This is subjective.
If you like the dirt and off road, get a very small 1/10 scale something. Look to other brands beside Arrma's.
>>A 1/10 2s 2WD buggy may even be be what you are looking for to run at a track. Cheapest way to go perhaps depending on the brand.

A 1/18 scale might be what you really want? IDK.

Thanks everyone for the helpful replies!

After considering all the options, I'm thinking 1/10 2wd buggy/truggy. The ECX Stadium is discontinued, the 2wd Rustler is OOS and I'm guessing is/soon will be discontinued.

What is a good 2wd 1/10 buggy/truggy?

Rival MT10 V1...been looking at one myself.
Also.. I watched the new KT video where they broke a BUNCH of stuff and the only thing that survived was the MT10 🤷🏻‍♂️

Aside from Traxxas, there’s the Team Associated RB10. Not sure about other buggies.
