Back in June after seeing the fireteam had been on sale and not believing how great of a deal $599.99 was!! I scooped one up, firstly I decided to order exb chassis braces, my first good servo the DS505BLHV, and the exb servo mount. (I’m done buying stuff now, or so I thought). When installing my brand new promodeler servo I was being too rough and cut the wire of the servo. $60 down the drain thankfully John Beech was very helpful and I had my servo back a few weeks later. After my first few runs, I felt the car was underpowered so decided to put in a max6 with the 1650kv motor and 19t pinion.
Had quite a few issues that I couldn’t fix without coughing up more money. The front bearing constantly exploded, I think I went through four before finally ordering the hot racing steering blocks.
While I had the vehicle apart I added 4 bearings to the steering rack, and changed my differential oils to 60/500/30k. I’ve had bad luck with the diffs in both my notorious and fireteam so after a cracked diff case, I ordered two new aluminum diff cases, and 2 alliexpess bulkheads, which have been great.
After receiving my servo back from John, @olds97_lss helped me install my servo and the hobby wing bec., Then came my long string of issues with my mesh, which lead me to buy the PPS motor mount, a new spur, and around 6 pinions. Finally, I set my mesh right and have had no more issues.
I think that is all, I really love the fireteam and am so happy seeing everyone else getting to love it just as much as I do!
My arm and gun less troops!
