Arrma RC's
  1. Kraton 6s
  2. Senton 6s
So, I've got some old bike lights with nice led straps in it. My plan was to solder some connections for my receiver and have a nice Lil rear or front light for my rc.

So here's the deal, the original battery's were 3.7v, and when I connect the light bar with the rc, the led gets hot immediately. I'm no electrical expert at all, and I think it's the voltage that heats it up? What can I do, to make it work?

Buy an external bec (dc voltage regulator) that reduces the voltage to around 3.7v or buy another lightbar that is rated to the 6v.. or whatever the esc's bec puts out.

You will have to find out how much amperage the light bar consumes in order to choose the correct one.

Pololu are a bit more expensive than must but are a step up from most others in terms of quality and specs.
You would need to measure the regs output with a volt meter and turn the reg screw to the desired voltage.
Something like this would do if your lightbar consumes around 500-800mA

No problem.

The whole range of pololu regs can be found here. https://www.pololu.com/product/3798

Cheaper ones probably also on BG.

The important thing is to find out how many mA that lightbar uses in order to choose the correct one and not overheat the reg.

Another option might be to power the lightbar from a seperate power pack such as 2 AA 1.5 V batteries or possibly a 1s lipo ...IF... the lightbar did not get too hot.

Edit- This one is rated higher and is cheaper but you are probably not in the uk. But something with similar specs would likely do the job.. http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eB...5&pm=1&ds=0&t=1527456634000&ver=0&cspheader=1

Edit2- Or if you don't have an electrical tester and cant solder this larger one has a voltage display onboard and screw terminals. - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-DC-Ad...708267?hash=item365388cceb:g:xX8AAOSwLg1dbNPN
