Took a couple rigs out for a weekend camp and crawl and to review some 3d printed inserts for a business who's quickly gaining traction (pun intended).

What a great crawl spot! 👍
Yeah, it's got pretty much everything from good but easy trails to some pretty technical rock crawling. Plus I can throw a line in the water and catch dinner while I'm at it.

@Doom!
So the question everyone wants to know..!!! What's better this or the SCX24

If FMS stays the course, it could be a close call. They are slowly getting after market support, But Axial had a pretty good head start. I'm afraid FMS is going to go for too much detail at the expense of capability. The FCX24 power wagon is a great rig though. just needs a little more weight down low (but don't they all). We will see what the next few releases are like. I've got two FCX24's and the Atlas 6x6 and really like them.

I just checked and the release date for the FCX24 in the UK is 21st August so I may buy one

I have a Landy too.

I use the stock body as a shelf queen and got a proline raptor 12.8 for crawling, makes a big difference for CG, stock body with the light kit does look cool though.
Do you have to shorten the wheelbase for that body? I am looking into a different body to lower the CG

Took this out on its maiden voyage. Went 1.7 miles, did pretty good. I have a GPM 17mm axle extension kit coming for it. Hope it helps with the high CG.View attachment 236630View attachment 236631View attachment 236632
Beautiful Licensed Body. Scale looks doesn't get any better. (y)

Unfortunately that body will always be Top Heavy.
Adding a Pound + of Brass Unsprung weight in $Upgrades$ is all you can do if you want it to perform best at extreme Crawling.
And it will weigh alot at the end of the day.

It is top heavy for sure. Any suggestions on brass kits or bodies would be appreciated. I really like the body but..... that high CG is a little much.
Not for the 12.8 Proline one, most crawlers are 12.3 wheelbase so there only a handful of body’s that fit the Landy.

Here’s a link, the bumper and body mounts needed to be adjusted a little bit but other than that it fits pretty good : https://www.amainhobbies.com/prolin...dy-clear-trx4-pro3509-00/p773450#tab-feedback
Thanks! 👍

Shorter than 12.3" chassis, generally don't climb as well. ( 1/10 scale) Once you get to 10" chassis, they are real hard to drive over many lines.
Some say the sweetspot is 11-12" wheelbase. Depends on weight and balance of your specific rig. Shock spring setup and of course tires and foams.
A lighter lower profile body will require less Unsprung weight and is best.
Many have been slamming their Crawlers with so much weight to compensate. ( brass and metal axles) Unsprung. Heavy bumpers ( sprung overhang weight) at the Front and Rear for example, are no good if that is the direction you are going.
But a proper setup is now believed to be a very light rig. With a very light and low body. Smallish lipos etc. This Seems to be trending now with the Crawler crowd.

I went Trail Crawling with my Son yesterday. 2-3 mile hike. Through streams and all. Ace of Gens 5000mah 2s packs lasted the whole hike and then some.
