I've been searching the site for a couple days but can't find any more recent threads. I did find to avoid Polo Creations at least due to poor customer service, so I guess I'm going to fab up my own LED light setup. I'd like to see some pictures of what others have done to get a little inspiration and some ideas.

My vehicle is a Kraton with a modded Notorious body but any thing you've done on any vehicle would be cool to see.

Got pics?

Lights are cool😎.

Nice!

@Sandracer_NL can you give some details on the Kraton setup? It looks like maybe some 8mm for headlights and 5mm for running?

I plan to wire mine up off the Aux on the RX to turn them on and off with the TX.

The two bigger lights are 18mm blue angel eyes leds with white inner led. The four in the front are 5mm white leds with metal fitting. I run all my lights in a setup to control them with the RX on channels 3,4, and 5 depending number of lights. I don’t use channel 6 as that controls the gyro.
See my build thread below how only the blue angel eyes look ( very cool😎) and the lights at the rear.

Funny you asked that question on lights.

This weekend that was my plan to add lights to the Kraton EXB bumper. The 3D print for the buckets came from a member here for the Big Rock but they worked just fine on the K6S. These are Polo Creation lights for the Losi DB Pro I had an extra set because they took so long to get them to me. Yes, the response is slow at Polo but when he does make-up he throws me in some extra.

I have not added in on the Kraton will post the finish once the E6000 dries:

Gonna look good bud!
you guys make me wanna bad ass buggy.....but I need a crawler.....and a 6s.....and a 8s......and a nitro.....woh woh who what am I Bubba Gump RC??

That is looking good. I was hunting for some small amber lens led buckets for 3mm led but struck out. I have an engineering background so making it look good and survive at least a decent amount of bashing is my goal.

Agree. I have lights on my Losi DB Pro, Big Rock BLX and they are bashers not speed runners so putting them in so they last and take a hit is my goal also. This is why I used E6000 last night I found it holds good over hot glue and when it's time to remove I can cut the E6000 or shoeglue away.

This is how I finished the K6S. I normally like my lights on the far outside of the bumper but the K6S will take more bumper hits and has more power. I found more inward I have more bumper structural support. I then zip-tied them inside the middle bumper support. This set had more wire than I would like but it was how it came. Maybe down the road I might cut and solder it down shorter. This same setup has been solid on my Big Rock which I added a pic using Polo C. lights:

I do not like plugging directly into the rx for lights. My rigs I always use an extension in CH3 that comes outside the RX box. Easy disconnect for lights and when I add a switch for Ch3 for the remote so I can turn them on/off from DX5C. I can easily plug the switcher in. Some rx boxes are not this easy to get to like on the Big Rock/Granite so I just stay consistent:

All Polo lights that that are still working from bashing, crashes, and beatings!

Those look sweet. I agree on the Rx connection. I'm still noodling on where the lights will connect for quick and easy body removal. My lights will be in the body so that will be a must. I'm going to use one of those switches off the Rx that the lights will plug in to to get Rx control for on/off. I'm planning to have one main plug somewhere to make the body quick and easy to remove.

Without being too long winded, grill was created in Illustrator and Blender, then 3D printed. Has a matching front and back plate (secured to each other with 10 small bolts) that sandwiches front area, left clear when body was painted. Headlights are 5mm white LEDs placed in chrome light buckets salvaged from a broken headlamp (complete luck, would have had to print them otherwise), skull is illuminated with a small section of white strip led that is placed within a centered light box. Still relatively new to 3D and 3D printing so this is work in progress, along with tail and roll-bar lights.

Forgot to add, as someone else has mentioned on this forum, polocreations.com is a good place to start for lighting kits.

Nice!

How are you guys running the leads? I was thinking of soldering them all together, then having a single plug to the digital switch and have the switch connect to the ECM aux port.

I run my lights straight off of my batteries.. so what I did was I have a small positive and negative wire coming out of the back of the plug on the car side before it connects to the battery. The relay also connects to let's say channel 3 of your receiver. by doing this I can now run a total of 12 volts worth of led lighting and I'm not limited by the receiver nor does it put strain on any of the other components..... Now this relay is turned on and off by my controller and in my case I'm using a dx5. So you just simply push the button on the controller and voila all the lights come on. As far as the LED goes and how many you can put I like to run all of mine in series . Then all I have to do is a little bit of math and add up the total voltage used between the LEDs. If the combined LED total it comes up to be less than what my battery puts out then I just run a resistor in line on the negative wire before it connects to the plug by the batteries. If my total number of LEDs is over my battery's voltage then I simply stop the LEDs where they equal to the battery and then start another series of LEDs but that rarely happens......... I hope I didn't miss anything it may sound a little confusing but it's really not if you draw everything out and download an LED resistor app.

Nope, makes perfect sense. I've got quite a bit of experience with electronics. The LEDs I'm going to use will be rated for 9-12 V so I should be good I think as the LEDs are pre-wired with some resistors in them. I'm just hoping not too much resistance or they'll be dim.

Oh well good for you well then that's perfect. If I was you I would run all the LEDs whether they're in the front or the back or the top run them all to one central location above where your batteries are and at that point like you mentioned solder them all together and then of course run a bigger wire down to your battery and that way they will all receive full power. I've always loaded my cars down with lights and it never seems to shorten the battery life...... And also make sure that you use some type of flexible epoxy to hold all the wires in place.

Hey guys anyway y'all would tell me about these lights? Basics....

Is it 1 circuit? If I cut them do they all quit?

The 5v (yea 5 volts) but is that what it takes to power them? Or is that the volts they can pull?

Was just fiddling around here after work and found them. Im an electric idiot and was curious if possible or worth playing around with them for the BR??
