I have finally purchased a spektrum 5000mah lipo. I have currently got it charging in a lipo bag in an ammo case. I only have the kit supplied USB charger so that's what I'm using. I am terrified something might go wrong as this is the first time I have used a lipo battery. The light on the charger is flashing purple twice at the moment so I presume won't take long until its fully charged. Also do I need to change any of the settings on the ESC so it accepts the lipo? Sorry for all the questions!

The best thing you can do to stay safe with lipos is get a proper digital lipo charger. Spektrum's are a bit expensive but they are pretty easy to use. I'd get at least the S1100. Spektrum stuff has sales a lot or you can always get 15% off with Tower Hobbies Super Saver club for 10 bucks. You need a charger that you can put the pack back to storage voltage after a run. You can do that with the usb charger but it will take forever and you either have to interrupt the charge cycle and check with spektrum cell checker or multimeter, or you have to charge it past storage and let the battery auto discharge down. Neither of these are ideal, just get the spektrum digital charger with a storage mode on it.

Enjoy your going to love driving the Gorgon on 2s
The difference in power is unreal. I had a good 30 minutes in the snow on full throttle. I just panikced thinking I had run the battery down too far as I am new to lipo power, and worried the battery would explode. I just need the spektrum smart charger to arrive so I can plug it in and see where I am at.

I should have purchased the S1100 but it can wait until after January. I shall charge, use then recharge and let the smart tech settle them down to storage charge. Will that be ok?
