Arrma RC's
  1. Gorgon
I recently go gifted 2 Arrma Gorgon's for my birthday, first time in this hobby. I instantly looked them up and saw recommendations to upgrade the battery to a 2S LiPo. Along with that I found out you can't just charge them without a special charger.

Below are the LiPo's along with the charger that was recommended to me on this site to charge these. I've done my fair share of research on LiPo's to get a better understanding (even got a BAT SAFE to ease my wife into the LiPo danger)...

- ISDT Lipo Battery Balance Charger 608AC - 8A/200W AC/DC Smart Hobby Charger for 1-6S Life, Lilon, LiPo, LiHv/Pb/NiMH RC Battery Dis-charger with Detachable Power Supply, XT60 Port

Charger mentions balancing for LiPo, amps/watts all look good for a 6500mah 2S...

I plug the batteries in to the charger, balancer wire as well. It comes up as 2S, each cell has like 3.68V on it. I go to use the Charge task on the charger, up to 4.2V @ 4.0amps since its 6500mah, task fails...

Can someone let me know if its user error on my part with the charger, if the charger simply isn't going to work, or if its simply my lack of knowledge where I'm missing something... like can I just run those batteries OTB?

I appreciate any and all help. I really want to see what the Gorgon can do with the 2S for 30 minutes rather than the stock NIMH for 10 minutes..

Check the balance plug is in the correct way, the black wire should be to the left, the smooth side of the balance plug up. This probably isnt the problem if its reading the correct voltahe per cell. One of my isdt chargers has this backwards on the molding however.
When charging, make sure '2s' and 'lipo' is selected.
The main lead has to be plugged into the charger too, the ec3. But the isdt only accepts xt60, without an adapter. Below is the adapter.

If its still throwing an error, post a shot of the charger and lipo connected.
