Hello, are their any foreseeable issues using adapters on preexisting batteries that have incompatible connectors. The ARRMA 185 electronic speed controller uses the newer IC5 connectors but my batteries are XT90 connected. I purchased some EC5 to XT90 adapters from Nitrohobbies to remedy the problem. Will this cause a reduction in power?

Just causes extra heat resistance that can melt the connectors and cause problems
Soldering is the best.
Run them see what happens it they are hot your going to want to solder then on. If you are worried about a warranty I’d pull the esc out and put a hobbywing max6 with 4985 or hobbystar 4092 in.

Just another point of failure. Ok to run with them though.
Pick one type connector and stick with it, that is the typical approach. It will void your warranty on the truck if you cut them off, if that matters to you.

I use adapters on new esc until i'm convinced they don't have any factory defects (so my warranty is still valid), and then i solder the correct plugs.
That would be the only pro lol
