What lipo options can it handle? Just 3S lipos? Will it also handle 4S lipos?

is this a 3S Senton?

Yes & No. That started life as a brushed 550 Senton. Basically it came from the factory as brushed. Plastic turnbuckle and slipper clutch are dead giveaways. It was later converted to brushless, as that motor & esc are Not stock 3S Senton electronics. That body is also the 550 brushed truck body. Thing also looks like it has crappy Traxxas battery connectors 😐

That's what i was thinking too......... new to these and want to buy a 3S version to run 3S obviously. lol
Was hoping the pics would help determine somehow if this is safely capable to run 3S ?

Looking at the way that battery connector is spliced and taped onto the ESC, I don't know if that truck would "safely" run anything. Those electronics don't look to be the highest of quality either. If I were you I'd buy a new 3S Senton from a reputable hobby dealer, or you can get a roller and build one yourself. Seeing as how you're new to the hobby I wouldn't necessarily recommend that second option. If you do buy used, make sure it's a Senton that came brushless/3S from the factory. But to answer your question, that particular truck you posted may very possibly run 3S, how good will it perform is another question. It's missing a lot of factory parts that are on the 3S line to help it handle the brushless power (driveline brace, motor mount, slipper clutch, spur gear, pinion, etc.)

yeah,..... that's what i'm looking for is a good clean factory 3S Senton.... its confusing when they are all called Sentons.......

I'm with them up there. The tape says how well it was taken care of, I wouldn't want it... who knows what else is going on. Cheap brushless system that's rigged in a base model... nah..
I'd buy new if you could. Especially being newer so if you have any issues the shop/ store it comes from can help if need be. Just a little insurance.

Yeah....I'm passing on it....I'm seeing the same things you guys are.....Thanks for the feedback

Also looking at this one for around $200....thoughts? I told him I'd need to buy tires and a Senton body.....I offered $175.....too much of an offer or ?

This one looks better. At least he didn't cheap out on the electronics, looks like a Castle Motor & Hobbywing Quicrun ESC. That truck also came from the factory as a 3S model, so you're good to go with all the other supporting components. Also has aftermarket springs. I think $175 is a fair offer.
