Are there bearings that fit these two big holes? Maybe flanged ones to replace the bushings? Or is that not…normal.

There aren't any BB's for this area. The OE "Step bolt" set is commonly used.
Would really enhance the Steering IF a BB option was available. IMHO.
Doesn't mean a BB mod can't be doable. Sourcing the correct size Flanged BB is probably the hardest part. Then using a proper nut and bolt for attachment would do. Clearance is critical however. Or the Ackerman plate assy. might hit the top plate when Steering moves left to right. If you maintain them, they Run smoothest. I have looked into this like you. I just clean, lightly grease or use Dry lube (Best) and use Blue TL for these Step Bolts so they won't bind or loosen. They do loosen and get sloppy if you neglect them.

Yes yes there are.
But you need more than just bearings.
You need 2 4x7x2.5 flanged bearings plus the stuff in the picture. Everything is assembled in the order that it is layed out, screw and bearing through the top. The 1x6mm spacer then the 3x8x0.5mm spacer go on the bottom. You may need more than one of the 3x8x0.5mm spacers.

Excellent! Thanks brother. In your opinion, is it worth it?

I haven't done it yet. I noticed my M2C Racing ackerman is thinner than the stock one so the stupid bushings stick too far out of the bottom and make the entire assembly a sloppy mess. Parts are on order but have not arrived yet. Not many of the AXA1343 spacers left last I looked though.

That’s the issue I’m having 😂 glad I asked about this…

Found bearings that should work. They’re metal shielded but I don’t care. Can’t find the axial parts though so I will wing it. One is discontinued and the other unfindable. If it doesn’t work I’ll put the stupid bushings back in.

Dang it… I must of offended Google because she didn’t help me like that. Thank you very much man I appreciate it!

I think scorched offers a bearing kit for Ackermans now. I was on their site other day and had some new products off they I order for Typhon

Thanks for mentioning Scorched! Being in the US I have never bothered looking at their website but they have some very nice products, and I see that they do ship…

Also the picture of flange bearings and the Ackerman plate together helped me understand why spacers and washers are needed, as mentioned in previous posts. The flange bearings are just too thin. Interesting.
