Hi All, wondering if you guys keep your hinge pins dry or lube them? Not sure whether rust prevention with lube is better or keeping dry so it doesn’t attract dirt & dust
Cheers

Any dry lube that specifies it's safe for plastic and metal. A lot of these dry lubes are a PTFE based spray, which is what I use

Very fine clay terrain ( think baseball field) will do a number on dry hinge pins. They wear and start to bind more and more to the point they squeak very loud.. I will use a Dry lube after a good cleaning. Barely a drop I smear on to them. Dupont Chain Saver/Teflon. It wont attract dirt "as much". And I can get some more life out of the hingpins and arms and Rear hubs this way . But they don't need them when new and through most of their life IMO.
Dry lube only if anything. Very very little.
