I think the JBI chassis looks the best, but 7075 is both lighter and stronger. I'm an aerospace engineer trained specifically in metallic structures. 7075 trumps 6061 in nearly every instance. It's both lighter and stronger. 6061 has its place in the aerospace industry because it is versatile and comparably cheaper. Unfortunately, the considerable extra weight is a penalty in things that fly. Ultimately, where weight is a penalty and strength is a bonus, 7075 is the go-to for critically stressed components. As much as I want a new Kraton chassis NOW, I'm going to wait until M2C is restocked (estimated at 1 month based on an e-mail I received today).

Just about there, still undecided on where to put the power button...Im super excited for the first test run tomorrow!

Humm, looks nice. I'm almost thinking I should have went this direction, instead of the Just Bash It, that's waiting on me at the post office. We'll see.

The JBI is really sharp looking. Be sure to post pictures!

Well, I hope I get it. Looks like the postal service has it confused. Yesterday it was close to me, this morning it's showing up a lot further north ????

Just had my first run with this setup, currently on a 22t pinion, this thing is a beast! Very happy with it, an absolute torque monster!

I wish someone would test whether or not the aluminum braces are necessary for the m2c or JBI chassis. There is a considerable weight savings going back to plastic braces. If these chassis don’t flex, do we really need the aluminum braces?

Just bought the M2C chassis and asked myself the same question. Even weighed them to confirm the difference (about 3/4 ounce difference. Here are my thoughts:

  1. The M2C chassis will flex, just much less than stock.
  2. For the modest or conservative basher, I feel the plastic braces are sufficient.
  3. If you're sending your rig like Mr. Duperbash, I'd say there's merit for the extra rigidity aluminum braces will provide.
  4. My bash intensity is moderate. I chose to use the aluminum braces for extra assurance and mostly because I already had them. If you haven't purchased, I'd say hold off until you feel you need to.

M2C racing is going to make a brace/braces and motor mount for their chassis. I think I'm going to wait and see what they come up with.

I feel you on the power upgrade

I've got money set aside for the just released Hobbywing 4985 motor and a v3 Max6 ESC.
They're coming out with a new version of the Max6 with motor sensor/thermal protection later in 2019 but I'm not waiting that long.
EZ Run 4985 (measures 49mm x 87mm) 1650kv, 6s and rated at 5200W.

They're already for sale as of today in Germany and should be stateside in the next 2 weeks.
should be rowdy as hell with a 20 tooth
Still waiting to throw a fistful of cash for this system.

Me too.
I check every day for state side availability.

I think my GKA braces are a bit heavier, but thanks for showing this comparison! Doesn't look like you save much with the plastic braces.
