I'm not a big fan of JBI. I definitely prefer M2C, as well as Vitavon...but have proven themselves, quite a few times, to be high-quality. Ann added benefit of Vitavon is the anodized options. That said...and, as others have already pointed out, "too heavy" of a vehicle is a bad thing. You should be VERY careful in selecting 'which' upgrade parts to install. Even manufacturers can take upgrades "too far". For example, when I think of the various Traxxas 'Ultimate' vehicles, I see upgrading (in this case, factory "in-house" upgrades) taken WAY beyond what should be done.
When I'm looking to upgrade any RC, I start by taking all possible upgrades, and dividing them into 3 primary categories - performance, handling, and aesthetics. For 'clarification', anything falling into the "aesthetics" category is really just for making the vehicle look better, and should be avoided for most vehicle types (the one major exception is scale vehicles (such as crawlers, especially when competing, as such things increase your points). Next, I take the first two (performance & handling), and divide them into the following sub-categories - "required", "nice to have, but not absolutely necessary", and "not really needed". Another word for "not really needed" is 'bling'. These are the parts that really do nothing other than add unneeded weight. A perfect example would be installing aluminum arms on 'bashing' vehicles...on 'speedrun' vehicles, yes, but not on 'bashing' vehicles. Some upgrade parts are perfect/outstanding for certain RCs, and useless/worthless for other RCs.
Once you put this type of classifying & categorizing into effect, you'll be better equipped to determine what upgrade parts are best for any specific vehicle. Best of luck to you.
