Arrma RC's
  1. Fireteam
  2. Kraton EXB
So i just now noticed my fireteam tires are well worn out, you can see the difference of the used and new tires below.

I didnt expect this, since i only went though 15 packs at most. Any idea what are some good quality tires? Jconepts magma or proline badlands maybe? Anyone tried them?

If it matters to you, check the weights of your final choices. The Badlands MX3’s are awesome, but they’re also heavy. Some need to gear down a tooth or two on the pinion.

Cross rotate every couple/few packs or anytime you’re spinning on asphalt.

Any of those other options will require EXB diffs for the outdrive pins to hold.

Only 15 packs!? :ROFLMAO:

That is actually not bad depending on how you drive.

Buddy of mine brought a new set of senton tires to racing slicks in less than 2 packs 😆.

Also from your picture looks like you could squeeze another 15 packs out of them?

the magmas won't last long if your running on road or the prolines either. even on road tyres don't last long on 6s power 😐

Nope im not running on road, only yesterday i did for 5min only. And now that im thinking about it i didnt even go through 15packs most likely 10-12

Those Magas look super. But as others mentioned check the weight of the tires. The Fireteam already is heavy, so adding more weight will put even more stress on the electronics and drivetrain.
I wouldn’t go heavier unless you have upgraded electronics and diffs.

Are the fireteam diffs that weak? I already ordered an aluminium diff cup for them, maybe i shouldnt? I should have upgraded to the EXB ones?

The stock diffs are OK as long as you keep total weight as close to stock weight as possible. I had a Max6 combo in my Fireteam and although it ran cooler the diffs wore more quickly (still acceptable).

Once you add much heavier wheels like bigger belted tires the drivetrain will wear much much faster.
I don’t have my Fireteam anymore, but @rotauq ‘s overpowered and with belted Trenchers could shred the stock diffs and even EXB diffs in one pack. After upgrading to GP6 diffs they seem they can handle the weight and power.

When you say after upgrading to GP6 what did he upgrade exactly? The ring gear or the spider gears? Or the whole set?

What makes gp6 gears better? I have had an issue with killing gear on the talion, and I was considering buying different gears.
The GP6 is straight cut and has a 14T input gear, whereas the stock GP4 is a 10T spiral cut.

The complete diffs with input gear.

them fireteam tyres must be crap then I run the backflip 6s and copperhead 2s on grass and gravel terrain and they last forever its the foams that go on mine well before the tread 🤶

Yes the backflips 6s is one good option

Backflips are nice tires, one of my favorite. Should fit the FT no problem.

That being said if you run a pretty abrasive surface with 6S power most tires wont last too long.

Imo Fireteam tires are quite good too. Rubber compound feels similar to the Backflips.

I am running the gears from the v3 talion which are already striaght cut. Is this something I should upgrade?
Straight cut on it's own isnt better then spiral cut, it has some advantage when driving in very lose sand which can reach you diffs. The big win for the GP6 is the 14T input gear. As long as the current setup works for you there is no need to 'upgrade'. As the diffratio will change a little, you can only do a full swap (both front and rear diff and inputs)
I don't no if they fit on the fireteam though better check first someone mite no on here
I am currently running 4S backflips. The smaller diameter, thus rotational mass, lives a lot longer in my case where insane power is put on the wheels (XLX2 esc +2028 motor). Especially on 8S its either the tire, hex or diff that gets all the pain. On stock power 6s backflips are nice, but don't underestimate the FT stocks. The only reason i stopped using them is crazy ballooning above 80mph
