Have been looking for maintenance stand of the kraton 8s. after looking around, only to find they are either too small, unstable or too expensive. Decided to build my own using a swivel base for chairs to deal with the rotation from Amazon.

Had some spare MDF boards and cut 22x30cm top with a 14x26cm support glued to the bottom(pic below). Did the same for the base and cut a further seven 14x14cm squares to stack as the pillar.

Marked the position of the swivel base to the underside of the top end and drilled 2 10mm holes through the top (marked X on the side)

The two holes are there to drop the screws in to attached to the pillar

screwed the top to two pieces of the pillar as shown in the pic below (note, must use flat low profile screws otherwise they will catch each other)

glue the rest of the base and pillars together. Leave over night and apply ample weight holding it down, the swivel base is rated for 50kg so can take decent load.

sand off the excess glue. Stuck on an A4 felt pad to give a decent surface, but stuck further pads (chair leg felt pads) to the sides as the Kraton base is slightly uneven.

Finished product with the kraton 8s. It’s very sturdy and overall happy with the simple build. Other mods I might Make is to drill holes to hold tools and the shocks. Cost was less than £10 ($12)
