Kraton Max8 esc gone up in flames on first run.

Well to my surprise, after all I'd read about HW on her, they've honored the warranty and a new ESC is on its way to me .

Was even more surprised as when they started they said the fire was due to me not fitting the cap pack.

Ah well it'll be going on ebay tonight. Unless I stick it in my Granite and run it on 4s for laugh

That is good to hear that not installing the cap pack doesn't void the warranty.

I just stuck my Max8 in my 3s Typhon

Maybe they have been watching the negative feedbacks they are getting.
Anyway, congratulations for you are one of the lucky ones. As for the cap pack, make sure you get capacitors rated at 50V so it can handle 8s.
