I had to do a little thinking outside the box on this one. I ended up finding some gas strut rod ends that were a near perfect fit. I just had to find a bushing to fill in the eyelet gap.

I have only busted 3 of the plastic ends but these are a serious piece of steel beef, the ultimate overkill. Th base of the steel end is M6 while the eyelet is M8. So I use a 5x7x8 bushing & a small strip of 3m double-sided tape to fill the gap.

One word... DAMN
35lbs exactly But the only thing I'm wrecking are CVDs. Hopefully Mitch pulls through. Rich wrecked the protos rather easily. That thing must weigh in at 35lbs..

This is one of those basic unknowns in the RC world, but being an engineering gearhead . . . Mod 1.5 has larger teeth so it can handle more power, torque, & have a greater energy transfer per rotation - meaning it's more efficient, but these electromagnetics are ULTRA-efficient from the get-go Simply put, larger teeth are always better - & lets you do crazy stuff like this w/o overloading the motor:What are the advantages of swapping out to Mod 1.5 gearing? Asking as a newb because if it’s better, I’d like to try it. And...what did you use as the spur gear? Part number if you have it...
cheers,
