i am gonna try 21 tooth on the max6 4985 combo. i am looking into fans any ideas
it's a little tougher with the 49mm can. the yeah racing dual fan setup will work, you just need longer screws for the 2 halves, or buy the hobbywing heat sink. The fans that move the most air right now are NTF, but pricy. if you get the yeah racing dual fan mounts you can get the yeah racing tornado fans or wtfans and they are decent. If you power them off your receiver or wherever I'd get a JST splitter so you only have to run pair back to it.

i just looked at the yeah racing fans which one were u talking about?

At 20T you will run ~ 65mph on the road with a 4985, it will overheat on grass without fans.
You will blow tires on grass, almost every session (backflip), dirt might be doable. At 70mph you will blow backflips all day long on grass. That is just my limited experience.

4985, check bearings on arrival. Earlier this year they swapped vendors and the installed version is only rated at 32ooorpm, simple bearing swap but need to be aware.
Fans are a must. I went down to an 18T for now but ESC overheats here in FL (grass). Installed a better fan for now, motor is at ~ 160F with dual fans.

Don't know the 1515.
were should i order the bearings from possibly jims?

I'm using Jim's right now but below are alternates, in no particular order.
Boca seems down but they are high priced anyway, best quality but not for bashing.

I think I was a little optimistic on the 20T, I had a 24T and got ~ 65mph on the road. I moved down to 20T and now 18T due to heat, ESC keeps cutting out.
i ordered a 20 tooth- 24 tooth from tekno. i have the pps sliding motor mount so its east change out.

amain and ebay or google search yeah racing dualmount fans for 1/8 scale rc's and you'll see them. it's a 2 part heat sink with the back being smooth.

Do you know what size bearing is needed? I bought this motor for the exb I'm waiting on. I don't see this motor listed on Jim's bearing site. Maybe it takes the same bearing as the other ezrun motors?

4985 bearings are 6x19x6
6mm I.D, 19mm O.D., 6mm thick. If you notice the markings say NWB 626Z
Ideally you want ABEC5 or higher but they are hard to find.
I'm using the ABEC3 rubber seal from TRB

Oh dang I was way off, for some reason I thought they were 5X16X5.

Get the max 6 combo and call it a day. You won't be disappointed. Or you can get the max 6 with a 4092mm motor which is what i have. Its absolutely ballistic! ??
