Arrma RC's
  1. BigRock
  2. Kraton 8S
  3. Mojave EXB
New to RC starting with a Mojave EXB build. Decided to do a Castle MMX8s and 1717 motor combo with a Savox 2290 steering servo, a Spektrum DX5C transmitter with a 6100AT receiver.

Nice work. Important to check all out, including diffs out the box. 👍
Nice choice in electrics. Just not so much of a fan of Savox, but I am pretty much alone on this. Bad experience with Cust. Support and 2 new 1210's out the box. But Savox is a popular "go to" brand.🤷‍♂️
Let us know how it turns out. That Castle setup was a great choice.👍 That would be my pick for my Mojave, without a doubt.
I like my Mojave RTR. One of my favorite rigs of all my Arrma's.

Swoon. Fwiw my advice is to keep 10k in the rear diff, with the minimum effect configuration and replace shock fluid (550 stock) w/800/1000 as my moj exb bottoms out too easily on 550.

Edit: Oh, and shoe goo and dry wall tape the shell :)

Here we go:

Looks like a nice build. For the 1717 heatsink, I like the K8S heatsink, but it’s hard to find.

Also, you have your receiver and transmitter part numbers swapped in your OP. 🤘🏻

Thanks Johndilly1974 I didnt realize I had the receiver and transmitter incorrect. Speaks to my lack of experience with RC trucks. I picked this up because it’s something fun to do in quarantine. I found through internet research that Arrma is a very durable product and most of what I’m doing is from what I’ve learned on ArrmaForum.

Update: After an exhaustive search for a mount for my MMX 8s I found Basherqueen who developed a carbon fiber mount for my MMX 8s and is selling them in her eBay store.

Basherqueen also developed an all new carbon fiber switch mount that fits underneath the MMX8s fan.
