Finally started building my track. My son and I are building this with our 6s and 4s mojaves in mind. The ground I chose on a 10° slope. The length runs side hill 130'. The width goes from 100' to 70'. We are shooting for 10' lanes. This weekend we will be coming up with our track layout. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

DR style races are more fun on 4S because you can see more of the suspension action.

My son and I are getting together today to design the layout. I have rented a tractor for a few days from the 4th to the 6th. Unfortunately my son will only be available on the fourth. If anyone has or knows of any links or photos of track layouts that would be very helpful.
My son is going to drag out his drone. I'm hoping to start creating some videos of progress. Our goal is to create an 8th scale track to have some legit racing. We have nothing in our area for tracks.

Well we got alot done today on the track. I rented a tractor with a landscape rake and a blade to scrape the remaining sod. My son is going to forward the pics tomorrow. I'll post them as soon as I can. Going to build som more jumps tomorrow as well.

So this is the view from my front yard looking down towards the track.
These shots are from the upper side of the track. I took them from the approx location that I will build a driver stand next year.

I hope these pics help to show the slope and size better. We have plotted out most of the jumps and place some dirt. I was hoping to use paint to mark the lanes but there is too much dust for the paint to stick. So I'm going to go ahead with the 4" drain pipe. I scored 200' this morning for $50. The guy i bought it from thinks he can get me 300 to 400 feet more. Huge savings. This pipe is normally $130 for 100'.

Back on the track finally!
Just about finished for this year. I have maybe a month and a half before the rain gets serious. There isn't a pipe for the outside lane. So far it has taken about 600' of pipe. I have some cheap flags coming to mark the outer lane for now.

Everything is powder right now. We have put a few pack through the Mojaves. My initial report between the 4s and the 6s mojave. The 6s out performs the 4s. It's better planted in the corners. That extra weight is making a difference.

my youngest son and his wife came to town for a week. My two adult sons and I raced every day on the new track. We had a blast. To be able to spend this time with both of my sons is such a blessing. This is what I love about this hobby. Every night, we sat around the fire with our wives. This was one of the weeks that I will never forget. We are already planning the next race.
My two year old grandson loved watching. I offered to give him a ride on my 6s.
