Hi guys!
Just wondering.
Can motor shut down the ESC when overheated or Does Esc actually knows when motor overheated?
Can't use all 8500 mah battery, shuts off when around 5000 used. ESC does not seem to be that hot when it happens.
Thanks

Esc can go in thermal shutdown. There is no thermal shutdown on the motor. So as long as the esc stays cool you can fry your motor. That’s why follow @K-BASH advise and use fans to cool your motor.
Keep an eye on the temps of your motor and esc. If they are not hot and you still get shutdown at around half the battery capacity, you may have a defective lipo.

I added the power Hobby twin fans and heat sink combo to my Mojave after having a similar problem and haven't had an issue since. (y)

I got the Yeah Racing Twin Tornado fans and heatsink and it fixed my heat issues 100%.

I think stock out of the box, the Mojave is just a bit too big and heavy for the stock gearing and the BLX 2050 motor. It's not an especially strong motor and it gets really hot without a fan or heatsink.
