More bad luck

Finally after 2 weeks I got my 12-17 adapters and rims and tires on. Never thought about loctite the extenders 12-17 nuts on. First run I lost the nut!!!! Dang. Wheel flew off and I can't find the nut. A simple 8mm nut won't fit In the extender to secure it. I ground down a nylock that had a bigger base. It fits but can't get a socket in to tighten up the nut. Anyone think of anything I could get at a hardware store? Gonna get red loctite!!! I was wondering if a hardware might have something to temperarly work Might be able to pick up some for a Traxxas at hobby town tomorrow. If not I'll have order some
