I have a 6s kraton. What’s a good combo that will give me more speed without overheating anything.

I'd suggest max6 combo with 1650kv but you'll still have heat issues. I even tried recently running the Spektrum 8s 1250kv motor with 20t and it got as hot or hotter than the 2050kv when I ran 15t so was disappointed for sure. Also even with 20t it wouldn't hardly flip and didn't have near the speed as the 2050kv on 15t. I'd suggest getting a good 40mm fan like the game changer fans to keep it cool and run stock motor with 15t like I do.

That's strange, my Hobbywing 1650kv motor runs cool as a cucumber, even without fans the hottest temp I ever saw was 158* and that was in 80-90* temps with the fans I'm around 120-130 after a bash session.

I thought so too so I'm going to check solder joints and also open it up make sure everything looks good.

Thanks everyone. Definitely gonna try a hobbywing set up.

What’s your gearing?

Try using a 25t-27t on the 1250kv motor, it might be over heating because of that smaller gear...I run a 27t and have had no problems.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll give it a try it's worth a shot

I run a max6 and Surpass Rocket 4092 1650kv in my outcast. So far, both the motor and esc are running noticeably cooler (102/112) than it did with the max6 and blx2050 4074 motor (110/150). I run the same rocket/surpass/hobbystar 30mm alloy framed fans/cooler on the motor with both.

I'm only running a 19T pinion though. When I was running the blx2050 I ran a 14T pinion, but I don't think my top speed was as fast as with the 19T and 4092 1650kv.

Really wish I could fit the same 4092 in my revo 2.0... that thing runs warm (max6/blx2050 4074), but I'm limited to a 74mm motor I believe in that.

Well pretty sure I got burnt on the motor as I have not been able to run it more than 5 mins without it hitting I'm guessing 160-180° tried 20,23,25t 20,25t on blx185 23t on max6 and still same result. After 5 mins I can't hardly touch the motor and just barely bashing around. Also I've noticed since I got the motor there is almost no resistance from the motor magnets at all. Not sure if that's normal for the 1250kv motor but I'd think an 8s motor would have some stronger magnets🤷 I can literally spin the shaft like nothing like I said almost no resistance at all. My blx 3200kv 3s motor is harder to turn so I'm guessing I got burned for $75. Pissed as I'd like to have run the 1250kv with the max6 I just got but it's going in the trash after I open it up tomorrow and almost guarantee find the rotor burnt up😡
