I just picked up some socket head cap screws for the motor mount on my Infraction V2 and Kraton EXB. I was wondering what would be a better? Use a flat washer and some Loctite or use a flat washer and a lock washer. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

loctite blue medium strength. Lil dab will do ya and when your done add a tiny drop of loctite to your screw and thread er in. Wait 24 hours and let cure.

At Loctite to the end of the screw and let it thread in. Some use red but most use blue because of how much easier it is to remove.
I use red on stuff that's stubborn and I can get heat on it to break it loose. I use orange if it tends to come loose and the hex is 2.5mm or larger. I use blue gel on everything else that's metal to metal.

I keep a loctite stick in my pit bag for field repairs:

I use blue gell. Its AMAZING!

I have always used t/l on metal to metal projects, I thought a lock washer instead because the threads in the part wont get gummed up. Everytime you remove a screw you leave residue of the old t/l. But really how often does anyone change the motor?

I like to use a flat washer and orange thread lock on the motor stuff, blue on everything else.

Yeah, I’m using Grade 12.9 M4 flanged Socket Head Cap Screws from McMaster-Carr to replace those button head screws. So much nicer and you can torque down on them. I use just a little bit of blue Loctite and it works perfectly.

I didn't know they made flanged socket head screws, that is awesome.

I have been using blue loctite , but i will put it on the head of the screw or both sides of the washer if I'm using a washer. It seems to hold the fastner in place and it is easier to remove the screw and doesn't gum up the threads.
