Was thinking of upgrading the motor in my fully built mojave and looking at maybe the castle xlx2 1100kv combo. Good choice and fitment? Does the castle 800kv even fit with an aftermarket motor mount? Looked at a few hobbywing setups too in similar sizes for the price.

are you on about putting these in a stock mojave  if so I would say its not a good idea I don't think they will fit either I have the 1100kv in my kraton 8s and it throws that truck around like a rag doll. what's wrong with the stock system

@TylerJones — I've got two 6s Mojave's. One of them is an EXB that came as a roller (discontinued). I run my EXB on paddle tires mostly—in the sand and snow. I live in Southern California and it can get hot here and so I decided to use a Castle MMX8s paired with a 1717, 1650kv, and I run it on 6s or 8s. It has plenty of power with that system. It rips down the beach at 50+ mph. If you are thinking Hobbwing instead of Castle, I'd go with the Max6 and the 4985. If you're looking for macho power, either one of those systems will work just like a charm. The only problem you will have is finding batteries that can withstand the punishment of powering the system. The truck hits thermal shutoff after about 20 minutes of hard driving on the beach with paddles.

The other is a BLX that I build from scratch as an "ultralight" version and was able to cut down the weight by 15%. Since it's a fair bit lighter, I went with a Castle Mamba X and the 1515 V2, 2200kv. It has plenty of power, albeit, the way I have it geared (for 50+ mph) it does get hot fairly quickly. I like running the Castle systems because they are sensored and I can set a temp cutoff so I don't burn out my ESC/ motor. Where I live, the way I drive, and where I drive, heat is always a problem, even with fans. If you drive like me (fully pinned), the stock system may not work for you, depending on how you gear the truck, the terrain you're on, and the outside temperature of where you live.

I love overpowering my rigs. The systems mentioned above will do it.

I also have the (now discontinued) Mojave EXB roller set up with a Max 6 4985 and I can’t imagine ever needing more power. It freaking rips. Dual motor fans are a must, but you can gear it up and go very, very fast for an SCT especially if you put a windshield on the body.

Castle Cobra 8/1520, Max 8G2S/4278G2R, or Max 6G2/4990 are all plenty for the Mojave 6S configuration bashing.

If you're looking to break things and take away from its short course dynamics, then go bigger. If you're just planning to go 100+ mph on road, then have at it with the XLX2-Etc. Stock motor mount step will not handle anything larger than 49mm diameter and ~110mm length can.
