Typhon Motor Upgrade?

I have a 3674 and a 4274 in two of my trucks and they run just fine. It’s harder to find big motors with higher kv to run 3s to 4s is almost a necessary upgrade too. Some 36xx motors don’t really feel like an upgrade but a 40xx or 42xx feels like driving a whole bother beast.

Rich Duperbash swears by the hobbystar 3670. Its slightly lower kv but has more torque than stock so happier to run bigger pinion. Runs on stock ESC ?
I'm looking at one for mine but I'm on the wrong side of the pond ?

Surpass 4068-2650kv w20-23t RIPPS ON 3S.IVE RUN 6S ON THEM NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE IT BURNED.78mph pb before going airborne

They are on amazon prime right now for 40$

Have you tried playing with pinions? I put a 20T pinion in my Typhon 3S and that’s kept me pretty happy.
Yes, went from the stock 15 to a 20. It has a 22 in there now. I've heard guys using up to the max of 26 but I'm not willing to toast the ESC to gain a couple MPH...

I've run stock blx100 with stock 6s motor (4074-2050kv)with 26t back to back 3s packs in july in st Louis mid 90s++ without any esc damage.. it was the only way I could run my car in the summer Stock motor would overheat a quarter of the way through the pack.with 2050kv an 26t is about same top speed, but way more torque,no cogging,no overheating.worked for me,now both my 1/10 r blx185. 26t now,run um on 4S an they SCREAM.6s is uncontrollable unless huge smooth area....
Best 6s esc under 100$ imo--- hobbywing quicrun 150a. Can run 2,3,4,5,6s with it an can adjust 12 different things.5s is a nice option.motor all depends on your driving style.if you plan on higher than 3s you MUST run smaller tires that will SPIN a little OR YOU WILL CONSTANTLY BLOW REAR DIFFS.

Hoons white on my 4s typhon build. Need HD spur/slipper and hot racing diffs.

I have a Surpass 3670/2850 ($40) in my Typhon 3s. With a 19T pinion it ran fine on the stock BLX100 ESC, but I upgraded the ESC to a Firma 130A so I would have more headroom with this motor or another more powerful motor if I decided on one later. I bought the Surpass to handle the Trencher HP belted tires I had on my Typhon because the stock motor ran too hot. This combo runs cool with just the stock Arrma heatsink and fan.

I also run a surpass 3670 2850kv with stock ESC. It’s a good upgrade. More torque, smoother power, and runs cooler than stock.
